Delicious , fall apart chicken with yummy lemon flavored potatoes. Winner winner chicken dinner !

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 Ighams Whole chicken
  • 4-5 med potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 full garlic bulb , cut in halves
  • Portuguese seasoning powder
  • salt and pepper to season


  1. Place potato slices in base of slow cooker . Season with salt and pepper
  2. Either place 2-3 slices of lemon on top or squeeze a little juice over the potatoes
  3. Rub a little oil over chicken season with salt and pepper and sprinkle liberally with Portuguese spice
  4. Place garlic and a couple of lemon slices in the chicken cavity
  5. Put chicken on top of potatoes , Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours


This chicken is so tender and just falls off the bone Serve with other vegies , such as carrots ,beans or broccoli

    • Roughly 1/2 to 1 cm thick
