Clean strawberry chia jam without the rubbish


Ingredients (serves 10)

  • 2 cups Ripe strawberries
  • 2 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Rice malt syrup

Method

  1. Place strawberries in a blender and pulse until chopped. Add chia and rice malt syrup.
  2. Transfer to a small pan and slowly bring to boil. Reduce and allow to simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  3. Place in a sterilised jar In the fridge.

Notes

This recipe is one of our favourites and great on gluten free toast.

    • I have been making this recipe for a few years now, you can use different berries. My favourite is actually blueberries

  • what a great and easy homemade jam. Been using chia seeds for quite long time, so this sounds both healthy and tasty, to try, on my list the rice maple syrup to buy with strawberries of course as already have the chia.

  • looks lovely. can you get rice malt syrup from the regular supermarket? I have not heard of it before.


    • Yes sure can. I know Coles and Foodland stock them. Sometimes in the health section xx

  • This is how I make it 🙂 I only use yacon- or coconut palm syrup instead of rice malt syrup. We use it in bread, crackers, (cheese) cakes and home made ice cream
