A simple sultana log & a great way to get children to,eat sultanas. My nanna taught me this recipe.


Ingredients (makes 2 Logs)

  • 1 cup Sultanas
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Egg beaten
  • 2 cups Self raising flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius.
  2. Put sultanas, boiling water, sugar, butter and vanilla essence into a bowl and let it cool. Then add the beaten egg and self raising flour, mix well. Place in two greased log tins.
  3. Bake in oven for approximately 40 minutes.

Notes

This recipe freezes well.

  • I haven’t had sultana log since I was a kid. Yum!
