This Post Workout Berry Smoothie is a versatile recipe that can easily be made suitable for vegetarians by using the appropriate milk and protein powder. It gives the nutrients you need to aid recovery after exercise, with tumeric and ground flaxseed to help inflammation. A great snack after a workout to aid muscle growth and recovery!


Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 1 cup berries (eg blueberry / strawberry)
  • 1 cup milk (eg soy or cow)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbl ground flaxseed
  • 1 tbl protein powder of choice
  • 0.25 tsp tumeric

Method

  1. chop banana and add to blender
  2. add milk and berries to blender
  3. blend contents of blender and add powders (ground flaxseed, protein and tumeric) mixing until smooth
