Eat straight from the foil – add cream or ice cream if you like

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 Ripe Bananas
  • Honey
  • Brown Sugar
  • Butter (not marg)
  • Nutmeg and/or cinnamon

Method

  1. Peel bananas and place in aluminum foil
  2. Make a small slit down the banana - don't actually cut it in half.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar and spices into the slit
  4. Drizzle honey over the sugar mix, and put a small knob of butter on top
  5. Wrap in alfoil and put under the grill for about 5 minutes

Notes

Dad used to make these and we would have them with hot chocolate on a cold winters day

  • We used to make something similar when we went on camping trips. We’d often add some chocolate to the bananas, and a sprinkle of brandy, then dollops of cream. Great for warming you from the inside out when you’re camping and it’s a wee bit cold.
