Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion :
4.51 out of 5 based on 695 reviews.

AVEENO® Daily Moisturising Lotion works hard to transform sensitive dry skin into soft, smooth healthy looking skin with lasting moisturising benefits.

Relieve and protect dry skin with this fragrance-free, non-greasy lotion containing natural colloidal oatmeal. Clinically proven to moisturise skin for a full 24 hours, the formula also contains rich emollients to keep skin feeling hydrated and healthy for longer.

The natural properties of colloidal oatmeal (oatmeal that is milled to an ultra fine powder) are known for their ability to hold in moisture and relieve dry, sensitive skin. AVEENO® uses the whole oat kernel finely ground to retain the value of its entire composition. Natural proteins form a protective barrier from external elements locking in moisture for healthy, soft, hydrated skin. Used regularly, the lotion will provide relief from chapping and scaling associated with extra dry skin. Dermatologist tested and suitable for sensitive skin.

AVEENO® products can be found in all major supermarkets, pharmacies and specialty stores across the country.

RRP 354ml- $12.99 225ml- $9.99

In the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion Product Review, we sent mums a full size 354mL Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion as well as samples to share with their mum friends.

At Mouths of Mums we believe there’s no better way to review a product than to use it more than once, so we asked mums to use the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion daily for 14 days and provide us with their Aveeno lotion reviews.

  • Recommended to a friend

Feeling quite pleased today as I was able to recommend Aveeno Moisturising lotion to a friend with itchy and irritated skin. She has dry, flaky and red skin and has tried several different moisturising lotions and even lotions from the dermatologist. As she is rather desperate she is prepared to give Aveeno a go; hoping it works for her.

I tried Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion due to a problem with itchy skin back in the month of December. My skin has continued to improve and has calmed the itching and irritation. Aveeno has become a part of my daily routine. I am happy with the price of this product and will continue to use it; forever! 🙂 5 stars!

  • Highly recommended

I’m very fussy when it comes to moisturises as I hate anything that leaves you feeling greasy, however this is amazing. Once you rub it into your skin it just leaves your skin feeling soft and used regularly this keeps dry skin away. I have been using this on my feet then putting socks on when I go to bed and the dryness is kept away during the warmer months

  • Great Moisturiser.I'm Hooked!

After reading all the great MoM reviews I decide to buy the AVEENO Daily Moisturiser & I was lucky enough to find it on special at Priceline. This cold winter & use of more artificial heating has left my skin dry ,flaky & rough. Well AVEENO has certainly lived up to its claim of producing healthy, soft & hydrated skin in my eyes. It’s non greasy formula just drank into my skin & left it smooth & supple. Even my husband commented on how silky & soft my skin was. Its fragrance wasn’t over powering & I felt it didn’t compete with my perfume’s fragrance

  • wonderful

I am a huge fan of all Aveeni products. We use the baby bath for our daughter, shower gel and moisturiser for the adults.

There are no harsh chemicals, have a wonderful fresh aroma and leave your skin feeling so soft, but not oily or greasy.

Highly recommend Aveeno to all mummies.

  • Freebie

I received a free sample of this a few weeks ago, and only just got around to using it- LOVED it.
It was easily absorbed, and did not leave that greasy feeling some other ones do. The sample I got was in a little tear pack, which was a little hard to use, but the pump packs look far easier. Mine was value for money as it was free, but I have checked the prices out and it seems reasonable

  • Easily Applies and you notice the difference

I really love using this cream. It is light and applies easily. It isn’t oily, gluggy or thick and rubs in very easily. At first I didn’t think it would be as effective as it absorbed so easily but it is great. I always feel refreshed and the smell is light and nice (not over perfumed). Would recommend to everyone (men too, my husband got sunburnt and it really helped get the moisture back into his skin).

  • Nice and creamy

I like a good, rich cream that I can feel is doing its job and this was just that. I’m not interested in pretty smelly creams that do nothing. This cream I use every night after a shower and my legs always feel lovely and smooth. I also have a travel size for my kids after swimming lessons so the chlorine doesn’t dry out their sensitive skin

  • Works well on any skin type

I love using this moisuriser all over my body. Whether it’s on my lips or on dry spots it is gentle enough to use all over. I have combination skin and works really well to hydrate my dry spots and doesn’t leave my oily skin greasy or cause breakouts. It absorbs into the skin straight away and doesn’t leave an oily feeling and is the perfect balance of matte. Works well when used under foundation or to help lengthen the time of a tan.

  • Deeply moisturising, highly absorbent

I trialled a sample size of this and found it to be deeply moisturising and easily absorbed into my skin. It was easy to apply and wasn’t greasy and left my skin feeling soft and smooth. It doesn’t have a strong scent so didn’t overpower my perfume. Would like to try a larger bottle so I can try for a longer time. Highly recommend!

  • Economical long lasting moisturiser

I have started using Aveeno about a month ago, our local pharmacy gave me a pack with little bottles of cleanser and moisturiser in them, I think that they may have had them left over from a promotion!!! I tried them and they were nice, since then I have continued to use the moisturising lotion, I actually have been using it on my face as it is very dry, it does not leave it greasy and I find that it actually is working for me and my skin is glowing, this may be that I am also cleansing and toning as well so probably taking more care than I normally would, but I also use a small amount on my arms as I have been blessed with thin papery skin, as is my mother and grandmother, it looks like I am 80, but I have been using the lotion on my arms and hands twice a day and there is a noticeable difference, I like the fragrance, the price if good so I can use a reasonable amount and not feel guilty, and it is working, I hope that it continues, as I will keep using it if my skin keeps improving or even if it stays as It is as it is not getting worse which is what it was doing. good products Try the cleanser and toners as well, they are great.

  • Great results

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion leaves my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. It is non greasy absorbing beautifully into my skin. There is a faint fragrance but, it is very mild and rarely ever noticeable. Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is very reasonably priced, delivering higher than expected results. I have no problem in recommending Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion to others.

  • The only moisturiser i now use!

I was given the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion by a friend as my daughter was born 3 months premature and was in the NICU. The skin on my hands and arms were so dry from the constant washing needed each time you walk into the ward. The great thing about Aveeno was that it absorbed quickly into my skin and didn’t leave my skin feeling oily. It would last even through the constant washing and didn’t have a strong scent which was great. This is now my moisturiser of choice and I also use the Aveeno body washes too.

  • Fave, fave, fave

I can’t rave about this product more! For a family with some kids with sensitive skin, others with super dry skin, others who would rather die than apply moisturiser this product is practically a holy grail! It lasts a while – if the youngest doesn’t decide to paint the bathroom tiles with it 😛 The smell is clean, fresh and not overwhelmingly perfumed like a lot of moisturisers. A daily necessity in our house, we highly recommend =)

I have only started using the Aveeno daily moisturising cream and every time I apply it, my skin feels so nice and smooth. My skin is normally really dry but since using this product my skin has been feeling great. It’s great for your whole body especially if u apply it once you’ve shaved your legs. It’s also a great price too, especially for mums on a budget. I would recommend this to all mums that’s want there skin to feel nice and smooth and who don’t want to pay a fortune for skin products.

  • love the moisture, not the smell

I love how this works, it makes my hands particularly really soft but I found it smells like baby powder! Won’t stop me using it but not my favorite…
There are others that are moisturizing that have a great smell, some that smell good but dry you out, this one is sort of in between as the moisturising is just so good, and the smell not THAT big an issue.

  • Love it! Trust it!

I wasn’t part of this review, but I use this EVERYDAY. I was put onto it by a pharmacist who knew I was suffering from mild psoriasis. He quickly recommended this product as it’s free from fragrances and nasties that can effect sensitive skin and exacerbate skin conditions. What a difference! I won’t use anything else. It’s not greasy and moisturises all day long. No need to reapply. I use it on my face also every day. It’s great!

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.

  • I absolutely love the bb box quite sturdy. It took many lunch box to find one that would last. Before this lunch box we had a stuck on you. I found the stuck on you lunch box didn’t last when the hinge’s snapped they wouldn’t get back to me (only had for a short time and my youngest couldn’t open it so it wasn’t dropped. Just opened it after the 8th time and snapped). The bb box has lasted the last year and a half and still going strong
