The newly launched Bugaboo Stardust is a pop-up portacot, that unfolds in just 1 second. It’s bedtime made easy.

The Bugaboo Stardust is the latest innovation from Bugaboo that combines aerospace technology with design ingenuity.

    What a innovation to the old portacot, struggling with the set up of the old ones running from side to side trying to get the sides to stay up or trying to figure out how to put it down. I can’t wait to get one of these for our camper trailer!!! Looks so easy and pretty!

  • I think I need it

    I am seeing this portacot pop up all over my instagram and these reviews are convincing me even more that I need it. While my daughter is now 2 years old we often travel to visit my mother in another town and this looks like it would definitely come in handy with it slim fold and easiest pop together.

  • Practically Perfect!

    Well, we are totally sold on the Stardust. It offered everything it promised - so easy to set up quickly, which is essential with a tired and cranky baby who’s sick of travelling! Rather than being the clunky, time-consuming, space-waster that most portacots are, the Stardust is so easy to travel with, and fits in small spaces with ease. As with all other portacots, it is a long way down to place baby on their back, but one side is lower than the other, which definitely helps. We would definitely recommend it to other parents without hesitation!

  • OBSESSED

    Okay it has been a month and we are still obsessing over this Bugaboo Stardust portacot!

    The features I love about this continue to grow and grow. Yes, the one second set-up will have everyone in love immediately, but there is so much more!

    The mattress is comfortable giving the baby a great sleep. The breathable mesh sidings prevent little limbs from getting stuck in between anything. The compact design allows this to fit in the tightest of spaces. The carry bag provides a convenient way to transport.

    We are literally opening this up everyday because we can't get enough of it!

    10/10 Recommend!!

  • Slim-line and Stylish Comfort

    After trying two different styles of portacots, we have finally struck gold with the Bugaboo Stardust!

    It is the perfect combination of safety, slimline design, easy setup and stylish good looks.. When packed, it slides neatly under the bed for storage and will stack beautifully in the back of the car for camping trips. It truly is a one second open, and packing it down is just as easy. Given it's also lightweight, this is by far the best design I've come across for setting up solo. We are heading off on a little getaway and I can't wait to see how our little one sleeps in the Stardust!

  • So quick and amazing

    This has absolutely changed my life with assembly for portacots! I could never get the poles to click in and this is so easy and automatically sets up so easy. Cant wait for my MIL to try this when she has my kids for a sleep over. Even the mattress is so comfy and soft. My daughter loved it and is perfect for taking on holiday.

  • Wish I had known about this sooner

    Honestly, it took my partner and I a solid half hour to figure out how to unfold and lock in place our porta-cot. It was embarrassing.

    We went to a friends house the other day and she had one of the Bugaboo Stardust cots and seriously, I need one. It's easier to fold and unfold, it's easier to put in the car, it's lighter and just all around better.

  • Wow!

    What a portacot!! I’m so convinced I need one for bub #5. I’ve sworn by Bugaboo since the Cameleon with my first, the Donkey for the subsequent kids and now the Turtle for bub due in June. This looks like a fantastic essential for trips to grandparents’ and friends houses! The foldability is where it gets me, I’ve wrestled needlessly with so many different brands of portacot over the years and I’m so done!! The Stardust puts an end to that and I love it!

    Soo many good reviews, I think I need to buy this ! Would be so perfect for when bub stays at her nanny and poppys house, looks absolutely perfect to take on a holiday away too!! Can’t wait to get my hands on one, the way it unfolds and folds look super easy and convenient

    Love love love the stardust super lightweight slim and great carry case. The mattress is super soft and my girl has been loving her naps in there. Perfect for our upcoming camping trips

  • My new favourite portacot

    I absolutely adore this portacot!

    After four kids, we have used our fair share of other styles over the years and the Bugaboo Stardust has won hands-down! It has an amazing one second open BUT it is actually the close that has won me over. No more fiddling around for ages trying to tuck things in and fiddle with mattresses - this took maybe three seconds? Amazing.

    It feels luxurious on the outside and the mattress is very generous for a travel cot. I love that it can fold with the mattress still in place! The travel bag it comes with is stylish as well as functional and I can get it on and off with ease. It’s narrow and lightweight and would fit in even the smallest of cars.

    My two year old fits in it now, and I may have to invest in another so that my three month old gets a turn! It’ll definitely grow with our family over the next few years. Such a fab product!

  • I think I need one!

    I don’t yet have a porta cot but have been looking around for one. I love bugaboo I have quiet a few of their prams! I think this has sold it for me

  • Happy Bub Happy Mum

    I have used the Bugaboo Stardust portacot a few times now and I am continually impressed. I'm still amazed with the quick and easy set up/ pack up but there are more features I have grown to appreciate. The mattress is so comfortable my baby absolutely loves sleeping in the portacot and the compact design allows this to fit in so many spaces. This is a product I highly recommend.

  • WOW! I am speechless at how easy this was

    I turned on my video and filmed myself opening the box and getting this portacot out for the first time. I am speechless at how easy it popped up and was done. The box says 1 minute and I would really question if it was less. Quality frame and beautiful padded mattress. You can see in my video how when i push the mattress there is substance to it and not your usual foam inner. 10 out of 10 - I cant wait to go away now and put this to the test. This is a nice compact portacot so perfect for hotel rooms and even a tent camping.

Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.

Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.

Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.

“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”

Even then, it’s not ideal.

“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”

A New Loaf On The Block

Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.

It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.

“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”

Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.

For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”

“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”

The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved

Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.

“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”

Bec says she was impressed too.

“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”

A Simpler Option For Everyday Families

Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.

“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”

It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.

Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.

JUST bread keeps things simple with a handful of pantry ingredients and no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It’s the sort of loaf that fits easily into busy family life without asking us to compromise on taste or convenience.

Little Changes, Big Difference

 

For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.

“It seems like such a little thing to the normal community, but for us this is a massive win.”

Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.

And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

  • I am so glad to hear about this and will definitely be on a look out for this in the supermarket. I have noticed that there are starting to be more ‘cleaner’ products in the supermarket, meaning consumers are being heard. We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

  • Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
    I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.

  • I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.

  • This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo

  • I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.

  • I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it

  • Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!

  • This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
