Full Marks Head Lice Treatment :
4.35 out of 5 based on 162 reviews.

This week we ask real mums to sample and review Full Marks – a revolutionary head lice treatment that contains no traditional pesticides.

Full Marks is gentle on your children’s scalp while still being clinically proven to kill head lice and eradicate eggs.

Unlike other head lice treatments that try to poison the louse with pesticides, Full Marks works by physical action causing irreversible dehydration and shrinkage of the louse.

Why Use Full Marks Head Lice Treatments?

✓ Contains no harsh traditional pesticides

✓ Clinically proven to kill head lice and eradicates eggs

✓ Quickly and easily treat head lice in under 10 minutes

✓ Odourless

✓ Suitable for sensitive skin

✓ Suitable for children over 2 years old

How to Use Full Marks:

  1. Apply to dry hair and leave for 10 minutes.
  2. Comb through hair with comb provided to remove the remains of lice and eggs.
  3. Finally wash out using non-conditioning shampoo. It’s that easy.
  4. Remember to retreat 7 days later*

*With many non-traditional insecticides – including Full Marks Solution – a second treatment, seven days after the first is required. This is to kill any newly-hatched lice which may have been missed in the initial treatment.

Where to buy Full Marks:

Available at your local pharmacy. Please call 1800 999 155 for your nearest store. RRP: $19.95

  • The easiest and most effective by far! 5 star's

I spent over $100 on different head lice treatments that didn't work trying to get rid of the head lice my son picked up at school. Full Marks is the only one I found that works. Its quick and easy you can see that it works straight away. It also leaves his hair soft and clean afterwards not like a lot of other products I've used I recommend it everyone.

  • fantastic

I have tried other products before and they have a terrible smell, the kids have complained about a burning feeling while they have to wait, the waiting time is so long for the children to sit and they get fidgety, with this product though the kids didn't complain about the smell or the burning feeling and it was quick.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE this product

I changed to this product when my step son kept coming to our house with headlice from school and we werent getting great results from other products. This product blew me away with its ease of use (pump action spray bottle) and how well it worked and that you only had to leave it on for 10 minutes! It also doesnt have a strong smell like alot of the other brands i had tried so was by far a winning product for our family.

  • Interesting effective product

Not one I raced out to try as no one had head lice but finally someone in the family did and we tried it. Much much nicer then the old stuff that burned your head we used to use! Barely any smell and has a fantastic concept of how it works, like the idea of rather then multiple poisons on my kids heads!

I would recommend this to others. It works well and is simple and easy to use. Instructions are clear and it doesn't seem to irritate scalps like other formulations I have used before do. I have no complaints about the product although I would love to never have to us it again!

  • Will use again if required!

I've used Full Marks Head Lice Treatment in the treatment of eradicating nits and lice before and would use again I'd required. There is no nasty odour and is quite easy to use. The only down fall to Full Marks Head Lice Treatment is that is does leave hair greasy requiring a least a couple of washes.

  • No overpowering smell

Full Marks head lice solution is easy to use, especially for children. It doesn't how a nasty over powering smell, which I love. The price is more than reasonable however, the only drawback for me was that hair is left feeling greasy and does require washing a couple of times. Recommend buying the larger pack to treat the whole family.

  • Easy to use

I love that you can grab Full Marks Spray Solution from the supermarket. It was easy to use, spraying and combing through the hair. The only drawback was that I found it difficult to rinse out from the hair. The smell wasn't overpowering compared to other products and after completing the second treatment all the creepy crawled were eradicated.

  • excellent but greasy.

loved this stuff it was pretty easy to use and wiped out all head-lice in one go the only drawback was how oily it was, even after washing it out. It took about 3 days for hair to stop being oily but would still use it again the price is good and the effectiveness and smell is great.

  • More difficult than it looked

Used this in the past and found that by the time I'd sprayed and dealt with the hair the solution was all over my hands making the pump hard to use, ended up wasting a towel trying to keep my hands clean and wiping the bottle, and it wasn't any more effective than other treatments

  • just recently used

my hubby grabbed this at the chemist. We also bought a comb. we used it and it did the job. i am happy with the lice free result. Because the smell was not overpowering (which was good), i did wonder if it would actually do the job. We would prefer not to use chemicals on our children but conditioner and combing will only get you so far and other "natural" products were not that effective and costlier. this is a product i would try again and it wasn't one that i had seen before my hubby purchased it

  • WORKED WELL AND GOT RID OF HEAD LICE

I saw this product, and my granddaughter came home with head lice from school, so she was treated straight away. This product worked really well. She has hair down to her bottom so it can be difficult to comb out at times, but the Full Marks Spray worked well. It was really easy to comb her hair. The price was reasonable also. Treatments can be so expensive, especially if you have a large family, you really need to treat the whole family at the same time. Thanks for the hint to use Full marks. xx dee

I applied for this review over 2 years ago; I still have the original bottle (it has lasted this long) and used it on on numerous heads within the family (I have seven children). After using it once, we are lice free (per child) for 12+ or more months. LOVE it and wouldn't try anything else!

  • Fantastic!

Had to lice dip my girls twice now :( I knew enrolling them in kindy would have its normal hiccups but i didn't expect having to treat them for headlice...not that they had any but to make sure i could prevent it. I tried a different brand the first time and my girls said it felt hot on their heads and smelt disgusting...but this time i tried Full Marks range and it was great! No horrible smell, easy to use, didn't phase my kids and no more head lice scares.

I have tried so many head lice treatments out there and there are not many that work very well.

I have probably come across 3 that work well and Full Marks is one of them.

It's easy to use, doesn't require to be left on the hair for long and doesn't smell which makes for less children whinging at a job we all hate.

e brought this. Okay it does not smell great. It killed the nits but did not much about removing the eggs. All good we used a comb then I spent hours went through her head stand for strand. …. But now I have found a second use. Okay I pray her school hat. Twice a week and I mixed into her shampoo so when I wash her hair she will get a small treatment … Does not leave hair oily. But her hair has a nice shine,

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.

    Reply

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
