  • Not just a breakie food.

    Hi ALL, Well as you all know I am a big fan of Golden Crumpets with Oats, love them for breakfast and light snacks and also have had them savory for lunch..but tonight I wanted dessert after dinner and as I am trying to watch my weight my hand wandered to the crumpets. I already had some low sugar caramel sauce in the frig, so I toasted the crumpets, smothered on a coating of luscious caramel sauce, topped with banana and a shaving of dark chocolate. The result heaven sent..oh so delicious and healthy tooo. These Golden Crumpets with Oats are simply golden. :-)

    Golden crumpets with Oats keeps everyone in the family happy. Love that we're getting the goodness of oats without sacrificing any of the flavour.   • Oats in a crumpet - Genius!

    My 2 boys LOVE their oats (or as they call it: "oats, oats, oats) so I figured anything with oats in would be a sure winner! And yup, it certainly was. I lightly toasted them, spread a little butter on & they were devoured. And now I get: "more, more, more"! They are great for breakfast when you need something fast & also great for a mid-afternoon snack.

  • A crowd pleaser.

    Referring to my girls catch up: We discovered that the easiest way to toast a huge amount of Golden Crumpets with Oats is to put them under the grill, that way All the ladies could enjoy their creation at the same time. They turned out golden brown and just as delicious as they do when toasted in a regular toaster. Arrayed the toppings across the breakfast bar and ladies simply topped their crumpet with their desired choice. Easy and fun and spreading the word about an old favourite with a new twist. :-)

  • Delicious! The whole family loved these!

    I was a bit hesitant at first wondering if these would taste as good as the regular crumpets that I normally buy but was more than impressed to find that they tasted just as good, if not better.

    The whole family was pretty happy with these and even my young granddaughter came back for seconds.

    Not only were they nice with spread on them, they were just lovely plain as well.

    Would definitely recommend these to others.

    My son is a fussy eater at times so it is great to find something that he loves and is good for him. We love them in our house for breakfast and for light snacks throughout the day. We have already had to buy a second lot because the first packet was all gone the first day. I love them with honey and my son is a huge vegemite crumpet fan.   • The hunger buster.

    Hi everyone,

    I have commented and done heaps of reviews on these delicious GOLDEN CRUMPETS with oats they are just so versatile and easy to prepare..I really do so enjoy them. Although I am gluten sensitive I seem to be able to tolerate the odd crumpet from time to time and that's fine with me as I get quite bored with the same old bland stuff. These crumpets are so reasonably priced and are quite often on special which helps the grocery bill a lot. They are super delicious with sweet as well as savoury toppings and today as I am now on a low sugar life style I decided to have cheese and vegemite. They are wonderful with a scraping of vegemite and a slice of tasty cheese and placed under the griller..oh so comforting and warm on a rainy grey day. Great for the young and young at heart, eating these little beauties really is smart.

    These crumpets are great they taste like normal crumpets but have the goodness and fibre of oats as well. Both of my kids loved them they thorght they were delicious with jam on top. I would defiantly buy these again as they are convenient and taste great and they are also cheap.

  • Healthy and nutritious breakkie for the family on busy weekday mornings

    These crumpets are scrumptious! I bought them as I liked that they included oats - thought they would be a good breakkie for my family that would be quick and easy - and healthy. My hubby who is not normally a breakfast person ate 3 - then wanted more however as I'd only bought one packet he couldn't have any more as my little guy and I had eaten the rest. My little guy loved them - and also wanted more! I know what I'll be buying for breakfast now!! Quick and easy while being healthy for the whle family.

    Some times its a struggle to get my daughter to eat breakfast even just to eat something really small. When we had this she ate all of hers and was even asking for seconds. Will be buying them again as its taken the stress out what to do for breakfast. So quick and easy.

  • Sooo many topping, sooo many mmm yummm moments.

    HI All, as you are well aware of my love of these versatile rounds of pure bliss, I thought I would share another simply sensational topping for these easy yet positively delicious creations. I had some nectarines in the crisper that well let's just say ..needed to be used up. I lightly peeled them, then heated and sprayed a skillet with oil, placed some choc coated honey comb ( Crunchie or Violet Crumble ) into the skillet, then the nectarines and browned and cooked for a couple of minutes. While they were cooking I toasted the crumpet, then tipped the contense of the pan onto my crumpet. OH pure bliss, sooo sweet, sooo wicked. The choc honey comb melted created a lovely gooey sauce that cooked and browned the nectarines to perfection. Added broken honey comb to the topping finished the creation and added a cafe style touch. I am sure even Max Brenner would be impressed. :-)

  • Taste great!

    Everyone, myself and my 3 kids, love crumpets, and these went down a treat. I prefer buying things made with oats but I was a little wary of how they'd taste compared to the regular ones, but these were delicious! Very happy, and will continue buying them and feeling less weighed down, haha.

  • Not just for breakfast

    I recently tried Crumpets with oats as they were out of the normal ones. We couldn't taste any difference in the flavour, even hubby didn't notice and he doesn't like oats.

    We eat usually crumpets after dinner with butter and jam in our house but they are delicious anytime.

    The kiddies in my house do not like crumpets whatsoever and unfortunately these were no exception. However I rely heavily on the humble crumpet as my breakfasts usually have to be fast and consumed while standing. I found these gems to have a slightly better taste than the average crumpet and I actually did feel satisfied by them for longer. These will definitely feature regularly in my pantry from now on and I.look forward to trying different ways to eat them

  • Kept the whole family happy

    Golden crumpets with Oats is a yummy breakfast choice for our family. Toasted until golden with that lovely outer crunch and spongy holes served with our favourite topping macadamia honey the kids didn't notice the difference of added oats when I served it up this morning. My only complaint was I had a hard time finding crumpets WITH oats, it was third store lucky for me. With that being said I would buy this product again.

Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.

Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.

Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.

“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”

Even then, it’s not ideal.

“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”

A New Loaf On The Block

Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.

It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.

“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”

Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.

For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”

“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”

The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved

Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.

“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”

Bec says she was impressed too.

“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”

A Simpler Option For Everyday Families

Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.

“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”

It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.

Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.

JUST bread keeps things simple with a handful of pantry ingredients and no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It’s the sort of loaf that fits easily into busy family life without asking us to compromise on taste or convenience.

Little Changes, Big Difference

 

For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.

“It seems like such a little thing to the normal community, but for us this is a massive win.”

Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.

And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

  • It’s at a good price point for families on a tight budget and is “cleaner” but missing the mark with Canola oil . I wouldn’t be running to a supermarket for it but it’s alot better than other varieties on the market. It’s nice to see supermarkets are at least trying and listening

  • Most breads are dairy free anyway so I am surprised by this article. Additive free is a bonus. I always go for a grain bread nowadays and have the kids eating it too so I’ll be sticking with that. It’s always great to have variety out there though for the ones that need it.

  • We bought this bread from the supermarket and it is a good price for bread which of course can indeed be expensive. Each slice is a good size and our favourite meal to create and eat with this bread is cheese toasties. The bread holds and is good to eat.

  • I am so glad to hear about this and will definitely be on a look out for this in the supermarket. I have noticed that there are starting to be more ‘cleaner’ products in the supermarket, meaning consumers are being heard. We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

  • Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
    I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.

  • I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.

  • This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo

  • I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.

  • I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it

  • Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!

  • This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
