  • Fresh looking nappy

    First impression is good, big box that can last long. My toddler loves the print, and no more struggle for me to change him just because of that!

    I picked size 10-15kg to try for both my 3 years old and 8 months old. It is amazing that both can fit in the same size.

  • So cute with koalas!

    So many nappies in the box and the koala print is adorable. Little miss loved them too! They were quick and easy to use with great absorbency! The only thing I would change would be to maybe size up as they're a more compact fit. Other than that would definitely recommend!!

  • Amazing game changer

    I loved using the new hugs and bubs nappies for my little girls ! Oddly the one size fit them both!

    I loved that they have a cute koala print , there super soft, absorbing, no latex or lotion and perfume free ! They also have a wet line indicater that is yellow and turns blue when soiled !

    Best of all that they are Aussie made !

    They come in big boxes that out lasted a whole month !! Great huh!

  • Absorbent, soft and a cute design

    Have been using these nappies for a week now and have been impressed with their absorbency. They’re soft to touch, fit my toddler well and it’s great having the wetness indicator. The nappies feature a cute design too! Size wise they’re not as large as some others but I sized up for my son so they fit fine.

    These nappies are very absorbant with no leaks even during those longer overnight stretches. Love that they are proudly Australian made. They are also affordable to buy and even cheaper with a subscription. Big thumbs up from me that they don't contain nasties such as formaldehyde, latex, elementary chlorine, perfumes or lotions. I would happily recommend these nappies to other parents.

    We’ve been using these all day & night for the last week & they’ve been great. No leaks, easy to fit. The one month supply would definitely let us longer than a month. I love they are Australian made. Nightly recommend.

  • Very good

    My first compliments go to Amazon for an amazingly fast delivery.. they delivered the product faster than I clicked yes. So impressed. My new bub arrives in December so to test the nappies, I have used one nappy. The nappy was dropped with slow water initially and after 3 normal drips, I did a big water drop on it. The wet indicator immediately changed colour. Impressive. I love the fact they are Aus made. Also I noticed the elastic band will be perfect for my bub. I tested the elastic on my older son's arm lol... It was a bit funny. But yes no red lines of the elastic. I am quite confident it matches the qualities of a good nappy and I will be using the subscribe and save option. Test for yourselves mums and see the quality.

  • Superb quality but a little small in size

    During size selection there was a disclaimer to size up if unsure. We are currently using size 5 of other brand and it’s a bit big yet comfortable for my son. Hugs and Bubs size 5 is for 13-15 Kg but my son is only 12.5 Kg so I felt confident that choosing size 5 is good for him. When the nappies arrived I immediately thought that the nappies look small. When I put it on to my baby, it almost didn’t fit but we’re lucky it still does. We’re at the very end of the strap. Since the nappy is a bit fitted on him, I was concerned that he may develop rashes or redness but amazingly, he didn’t. I also felt that the material used are really soft and gentle on skin. For long hour or even overnight use, we didn’t experience any skin problem. As for absorption, it is very good too. No leaks or material tearing down after up to 8 hrs of use or overnight. I’m really happy with the quality and if only they’ll have nappy pants, I may switch as it has a very competitive pricing too. I recommend this to moms just make sure to size up.

    I bought a months worth of these from Amazon as they were cheaper then the huggies I usually buy and I'd seen they were on here. I dont mind them. They are a slightly smaller fit size wise compared to the huggies but they havnt leaked once so far. They look pretty comfortable on her aswell.

  • Good fit, no leaks, no nasties and Aussie made: perfect choice!

    I have been looking for a while for Australian made nappies and that are gentle for little ones skin. I tested this brand recently and I am very happy with it! It is the exact right fit for my toddler, no leaks at night, ticks all the criteria to make it my regular nappy brand! Cute koala design and convenient large packaging is another plus :)

    I've never heard about this brand before but after reading this article and all the reviews I really want to try it. I wish I could have one for trial but I'll give it a go. I rated according to the reviews and the confidence that the reviews gave to me.

  • Surprisingly good

    I was gifted some of these nappies to try, I was just going to test them of a day and stick to my usual nappies at night but my husband put one on for the night and to my surprise we woke up with no leaks! Definitely would use these again.

  • Good quality

    I've saved the nappy box for my soon to be born bub... In the interim here's what I found... The box is soooo cute and my older son thought it had some toys in it lol. The size is impressive and you don't need to get two boxes of nappies for one month's supply.. this one box at a cheaper price and great quality will do it all. I have done a test to try out the nappy capacity before bub is here just to review it. It feels soft and holds good amount of liquid but I'm not too sure about the gooey newborn poo. Stay tuned for more.

  • I expected too much

    I got the size for my newborn since my toddler had already given up wearing nappies. My baby is in size 2. Hugs and Bubs nappies are true to its size and fits my baby well. She feels comfy wearing it and I love the koala prints. However, since newborns have wet poo most of the time, it doesn’t hold well poo explosions. My bub kept on having leaks - let’s say in 6 out of 10 nappies. I was a bit disappointed with it so I won’t make any switch anytime soon.

    We were so excited to trial this new brand! My toddler loved the super cute Koala design so we had no problem with the change. No leaks or rashes. I also love how they non toxic. Stretchy brand and wet indicator is another plus however I would size up as they are a bit on the small make. Thank you for choosing us to trial them.   • Bulk convenience

    It is great seeing an Australian made nappy with so many bonuses, like having no formaldehyde, no latex, no lotions or elementary chlorine and no perfumes plus the benefit of buying direct from Amazon for door delivery on a matter of days and such big boxes so you aren't thinking about nappies for a month at a time but as by this age, your littlies is a wriggler, it would benefit to have the nappy as a pull up to make it easier to put on bub instead of chasing them halfway around the house each change time

    Loved our trail of the Hugs & Bubs nappies. I found the nappy really hugged my daughters body well, never leaked and had great absorption for overnight dryness.

    Loved the fact that they don’t contain any nasties for babies skin and love supporting Australian made products. These nappies are reasonably affordable on Amazon & delivered straight to your door super quick. A large box such as the ones we got could last us a whole month. Would defiantly recommend and purchase again.

  • Good for the price

    I tried these nappies with my 2 year old. They worked quite well. No leaks, but I felt they didn't hold as much as other brands. They also seem to run on the small side, so order a size up just to be on the safe side. Designs are cute and bubs always felt dry on his skin even when the nappy was wet.

  • Great value nappies with good absorbancy and fit

    We were fortunate to try these Hugs and Bubs nappies for the trial. I'm pleased to say we actually really like them and will probably keep using them rather than going back to our previous big brand. We are big Amazon.com.au shoppers so having them available there, delivered with our Prime delivery is great! My little on is 15 months, and only 7kg so for her size she just gets into the 6-11kg Crawler size 3 nappies. She has a lot of room to grow in them so I think she will be in them for a long time to come. We like the fit indicator so we don't get them tighter on one side than the other, plus the wetness indicator helps too, this is available in most other brands. I'd never heard of the brand before so was a bit apprehensive, but am really happy with them.

  • Love supporting Aussie Made! Plus, no more leaks!

    I was super skeptical when being asked to review these nappies. We have had a lot of trouble finding affordable nappies that don’t irritate our little ones skin; and I’m so excited to be able to say these were on point!!

    The nappies themselves are soft the the touch, have a good amount of stretch and flex in the waistband and appear to move with the body.

    The wetness indicated is great for those times your not sure, and the nappy itself has not leaked once!! Not once!!!

    At approximately 27cent per nappy they’re excellent value for money.

    My only one criticism is that they’re not easy accessible, and I do wonder if I would go to the effort of ordering nappies separate from my daily shop, and having to wait for delivery.

Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.

Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.

Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.

“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”

Even then, it’s not ideal.

“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”

A New Loaf On The Block

Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.

It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.

“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”

Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.

For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”

“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”

The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved

Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.

“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”

Bec says she was impressed too.

“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”

A Simpler Option For Everyday Families

Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.

“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”

It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.

Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.

JUST bread keeps things simple with a handful of pantry ingredients and no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It’s the sort of loaf that fits easily into busy family life without asking us to compromise on taste or convenience.

Little Changes, Big Difference

 

For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.

“It seems like such a little thing to the normal community, but for us this is a massive win.”

Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.

And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

  • It’s at a good price point for families on a tight budget and is “cleaner” but missing the mark with Canola oil . I wouldn’t be running to a supermarket for it but it’s alot better than other varieties on the market. It’s nice to see supermarkets are at least trying and listening

  • Most breads are dairy free anyway so I am surprised by this article. Additive free is a bonus. I always go for a grain bread nowadays and have the kids eating it too so I’ll be sticking with that. It’s always great to have variety out there though for the ones that need it.

  • We bought this bread from the supermarket and it is a good price for bread which of course can indeed be expensive. Each slice is a good size and our favourite meal to create and eat with this bread is cheese toasties. The bread holds and is good to eat.

We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

  • Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
    I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.

  • I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.

  • This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo

  • I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.

  • I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it

  • Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!

  • This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
