  • Winner Chicken Dinner!

    I was fortunate enough to try out the new Ingham's chicken range and it is delicious. We tried out the ciabatta-crumbed chicken nuggets and they are so tasty! The whole family was impressed with the quality of these nuggets and the ciabatta infused coating was a nice difference to the normal boring crumbs. From the fussy kids to my fussy dad who doesn't normally like meat he doesn't prepare himself, everyone was satisfied with these!

  • Yummy!!

    I made this into a pasta bake and the kids absolutely loved it as did hubby! They are yummy and something that can easily become dinner or lunch. To make the pasta bake I just cooked up 250g pasta, added half a jar of Woolies chunky pasta sauce and grated cheese through, then put nuggets on top with the rest of the sauce and more cheese. In the oven for about 35-40 minutes (tried 25 minutes but nuggets weren't cooked). Yummy as!

  • Winner in our house!

    I took advantage of the Ingham’s freezer range on special at Woolies last week and purchased the nuggets for the kids and the Kiev’s for us adults.

    We are usual buyers of Kiev’s from the butcher but the Ingham Kiev’s have a better flavour crumb that says crunchy. Both my husband and I enjoyed them. The only downside is like all Kiev’s the garlic butter usually leaks out, but it is still very flavoursome.

    The kids enjoyed their nuggets, even the fussiest (who did ask me what it was before she would eat it like normal ????. I like how they are made with breast meat and they have a flavoursome crumb on them. I cooked them for a little longer to get a bit more crunch to them.

    All up they cooked up well. I oven baked them with some potatoes for a change from chips. I serve them with some steamed veggies for a more healthier meal. I will highly consider purchasing these in the future.

  • Great dinner snack or side meal

    we got to review the chicken nuggets. Great price. bright and colorful box. When I opened the box i was surprised at how big the chicken nuggets were, they were huge. They didn't take long to cook, and they taste delicious. A great amount of chicken in each nugget. My son who loves nuggets and is a fussy eater ate some and said they were good.

  • Quality chicken nuggets

    The chicken nuggets were made from nice quality chicken breast with no “yucky” bits. The chicken had a nice fresh flavour and not greasy or processed. The crumb was very crunchy.

    They were easy to prepare, I just put them in my air fryer, they were cooked in about 10 minutes.

    All my family really loved them, I’ll definitely be buying these again!

  • Winner winner, chicken dinner

    I’m impressed! I normally feel guilty about giving the kids nuggets and veggies for dinner. With these Free range and nasty free nuggets I don’t feel bad at all. They are surprisingly big and juicy too.

    All the kids loved them although they are pretty expensive (you get what you pay for) so I’ll stock up during sales.

  • Kids loved them

    My three kids absolutely loved and devoured the box of inghams free range nuggets. I was lucky enough to get one to try! They were so easy to cook just chucked them in the oven and served them with steamed peas and corn. Such a quick throw together meal on a busy night. Will purchase them again!

  • Fresh and juicy

    The Ingham’s free Range chicken nuggets were amazing. First thought when I opened the box was how large the actual nuggets were. After a quick cook in the oven the smell was making my mouth water! They tasted fantastic and were perfect for a quick and convenient Fathers Day mid afternoon snack between a big brunch and roast dinner. Definitely will be a regular in my shopping trolley.

  • Crowd Pleaser! The whole family loved these!

    We tried the chicken nuggets and were absolutely impressed... Everyone including hungry hubby, Miss six (hard to please) and fussy Mr One gobbled them up and asked for more. The chicken was juicy and tender with a lovely flavour to it! Highly recommend these to all!

  • There was plus's and minus's

    I am reviewing Inghams Free Range Chicken Breast Sourdough Garlic Butter Kievs. Firstly I was not a fan of the coating but in saying this I really am not a fan of sourdough bread full stop. I much preferred the coating (Wholemeal & Quinoa) on the tenders and would much prefer that coating on the kievs. Secondly for such a premium product I really would have preferred Inghams to have cut and taken the bone out of the kiev as it is such a waste and we are paying for it. But the chicken was lovely and tender and the garlic butter delicious. Like my review on the tenders once again I would love to know why these kievs are not all Australian. They are actually a little more worse then the tenders with 80% Australian Ingredients ...so what is the other 20%. I also compared my usual Inghams Kiev's with these new Free Range and our usual ones have 467mg of Sodium compared to 380mg (per 100g) in these Free Range ones so that's a plus. The Fat was 14.1g per 100g compared to 10.6g for the Free Range so that's a good plus. But I was disappointed in the sugar 3.8g for our usual compared to 4.6g in the new free range so that's bad . The actual sugar did surprise me as I would have assumed the sourdough free range to be better as far as sugar is concerned but it was not the case, maybe due to the fact of the crumb being a little more tart and they need extra sugar to counter out. Either way I was a touch disappointed in the sugar area. Will I purchase again well if on a good special probably yes.

  • I found quite expensive.

    The Inghams Free Range Chicken Tenderloins with Wholemeal and Quinoa coating where quite nice. The fact that the coating was wholemeal and quinoa was the overall reason for trying this product. As both of these are a lot more nutritious than most other coatings. I do love the versatility of tenders as one can simply serve with chips as a quick meal, or with mash and veggies as a larger meal and then there is the option of having the tenders on a fresh bread roll with salad which is often the case in this family for a delicious lunch time meal on a weekend.

    I am very interested to know what the other 15% of ingredients are that were not Australian as the label states Australian made from a least 85% Australian ingredients. Over all though these were very nice but for the price normally you do expect a premium product. Will only purchase when on special and find my usual Inghams tenders just fine thanks.

  • Delicious and easy

    Initially I tried the nuggets and they were amazing. You can taste the real chicken, and so quick and easy to make. Almost felt like I had crumbed them myself. Also tried the sweet chilli strips, and they were even better! So juicy and full of flavour

  • Delicious new product

    I bought the chicken nuggets and tenders when they first came out and was Surprised at how nice they were. They were crunchy and full of flavour. The nuggets were slightly bigger than normal so I did have to cut them up for my daughter but she still devoured them. Hubby even commented how nice the tenders were. Will be buying again!

    My kids LOVE chicken nuggets. With this new range from Ingams I don't feel guilty for letting them have their favourite meal. Even my husband and I like the taste of this range, the coating really tastes like it has lits of herbs and flabour and the meat inside is really tender. We definitely recommend this range.

  • Perfect snack

    I have just found the perfect weekend takeout . Yes takeout of the freezer Ingham’s Free Range Chicken Snacks out of the freezer and place in oven with correct temp and correct time. I wrap mine in baking paper and newspaper just to give the kids a old fashion treat. The kids now ask me for nanas old fashion takeout.

    We had the chicken nuggets and they were big, juicy and full of flavour. Definitely a product I would buy again. They baked up quickly and weren't dry either. We had them for our family dinner but they'd go really well in wraps or in the lunch box with a nice tossed salad.

    I work at Inghams so even though I’m off I still go and buy chicken my gosh it is delicious and amazing. Chicken will always be on top of the food chain I will always love my chicken I would cook this up when we have family gatherings they enjoyed it the last time we made it ☺️ Inghams chicken is the best and well packed

  • Quality at its best

    Firstly I would like to congratulate Ingham on this range it is really a quality product and fills a gap in these sort of products.

    The products were easy to find in the frozen section at Woolworths, the packaging is different and stands out . It has great colours, and displays the product really well . The instructions on the package were clear and easy to follow. The nuggets cooked to a delicious golden colour and had perfect crunch . I could really taste the difference with this product

    And tell that is was a high quality chicken and it tasted juicy and great compared to other products which can be pasty and horrible . Definitely recommend this to my friends family and everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to try this product.

  • Great tasting healthy chicken snacks

    We really loved trying these Chicken snacks - our family particularly loved the tenders and nuggets. They were easy to cook and tasted delicious. We will definitely be buying these again. My four year old polished off the nuggets and hubbie and I are the tenders and commented they were the best tenders we have ever had

  • Great product very Tasty!

    The kids loved it and so did I. I felt I was making a better decision going with free range and was surprised at how unprocessed it tasted compared to a lot of the products on the market. It was so easy to prepare simply pop it in the oven and wait.

  • Quite nice

    They tasted ok.

    As good as to be expected from pre-prepared/ frozen food.

    Easy to prepare, and cook for.

    Where Inghams fall short in; they don't cater for those with Coeliac disease. (gluten free)

    My son (9yo) has coeliac disease (FULLY DIAGNOSED) and yeah....

    Actually I won't go on the rant I WAS going to go on. I will just say this.......

    I'm sick to death of paying 'hipster tax' on gluten free products.

    For a child that has NO choice on the cards he's been dealt. He handles it soooo smoothly. But he shouldn't have to. There should be options for him.

    All in all; not a bad thing to eat but also not GREAT.

    The chicken nuggets are delicious and so much nicer than other brands. A new favourite in our house.

  • Easy, convenient, yum

    What can i say these were a hit. After a busy day, come home wonder what to cook. Open freezer. Grab chicken sweet chilli. Pop them in the oven. Grab the wraps and salad. Wait for the chicken to cook. Assemble the wraps. Wallah dinner done. The kids gobbled these down in no time. The loved them and asked me to buy them again. Winning all around.

    The nuggets were nice and juicy. The kids loved the flavour. Will buy again for an easy weekend dinner. I wanted to buy more kiev while half price but they were sold out so word must be out about this delicious range. Looking forward to trying the others in the range also.

‘I Grabbed My Car Keys And RAN!’ The New Supermarket Bread Everyone’s Talking About

Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.

Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.

Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.

“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”

Even then, it’s not ideal.

“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”

A New Loaf On The Block

Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.

It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.

“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”

Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.

For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”

“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”

The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved

Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.

“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”

Bec says she was impressed too.

“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”

A Simpler Option For Everyday Families

Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.

“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”

It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.

Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.

JUST bread keeps things simple with a handful of pantry ingredients and no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. It’s the sort of loaf that fits easily into busy family life without asking us to compromise on taste or convenience.

Little Changes, Big Difference

 

For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.

“It seems like such a little thing to the normal community, but for us this is a massive win.”

Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.

And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

  • It’s at a good price point for families on a tight budget and is “cleaner” but missing the mark with Canola oil . I wouldn’t be running to a supermarket for it but it’s alot better than other varieties on the market. It’s nice to see supermarkets are at least trying and listening

  • Most breads are dairy free anyway so I am surprised by this article. Additive free is a bonus. I always go for a grain bread nowadays and have the kids eating it too so I’ll be sticking with that. It’s always great to have variety out there though for the ones that need it.

  • We bought this bread from the supermarket and it is a good price for bread which of course can indeed be expensive. Each slice is a good size and our favourite meal to create and eat with this bread is cheese toasties. The bread holds and is good to eat.

  • I am so glad to hear about this and will definitely be on a look out for this in the supermarket. I have noticed that there are starting to be more ‘cleaner’ products in the supermarket, meaning consumers are being heard. We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

  • Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
    I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.

  • I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.

  • This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo

  • I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.

  • I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it

  • Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!

  • This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
