Tips on how to enjoy your coffee!

The Moccona Masterblenders have observed how Australians enjoy their coffee at home, and have recommended a heaped teaspoon to 200ml of boiling water. But, coffee is personal and we all have our own perfect recipe for making it just the way we like it.

If you prefer a stronger cup of coffee, add a little less water or a little more coffee. If you like a weaker coffee, add a little less coffee. Moccona Barista Reserve is delicious black or with a dash of milk. It is smooth enough to drink without sugar, but if you like things a little sweeter, add as much sugar as you need to get the taste you love.

    Sitting with family and friends in a park, doing barbecue and brewing Moccona Barista Reserve to set the right picnic mood. This has become my picnic coffee which accompanies me on a sunny day.

    This coffee has the most amazing scent to it. The Aroma is amazing and makes you drool as soon as you pop open the lid. When i make my coffee it comes out smooth and just like i have been at my local cafe. My friends have loved trialing this amazing coffee.

  • Seriously The Best Coffee I've Ever Had. Yes, Seriously.

    As the title says, this is the best coffee I have ever had, and I don't just mean the instant variety for at home. I have had coffee from cafes fancy or otherwise and I don't remember thinking "yum, I can see why this is $500 a cup, it's magical!". It's never been anything special, but certainly has been bitter and unpalatable at times.

    I like my coffee strong because a weak one will often send me to sleep or wishing I was at least (I sure took sleep for granted before having kids) which is why I chose to try the Rich Espresso variety. Other instant coffee I have tried tastes unpleasant the more coffee you use, so having a coffee to wake me up has been about what it can do for me, not will I enjoy it.

    Moccona Barista Reserve tastes fantastic no matter how strong I make it. It's smooth and creamy, and I no longer want to add some cocoa or something to my beverage to make it easier to drink. This is the best coffee I've ever had from anywhere, and I'm excited that I can buy it from the supermarket and enjoy it at home or make a large cup to take while out and about. Everyday is like Christmas, special and more enjoyable with Moccona. I am very grateful I was able to trial this, so thank you MoM and Moccona, you're both #1.

  • Tastes amazing

    As a mum, I love being able to make myself a coffee (usually with a child on my hip) and sit down to drink it hot. Sometimes that means putting the kids in the car and driving around and other times I am lucky enough to be able to sit on the couch and drink my coffee before it goes cold. The Moccona Barista Reserve Crema is delicious and feels like I am enjoying cafe quality coffee in the warmth and comfort of my own home. Very happy with this coffee and I definitely intend to purchase in the future.

  • Excellent Cuppa

    I have tried this coffee a few times now and have finally found the correct amount for me to use. Since this I have really enjoyed this coffee and have used it to make Iced Coffee as well as hot. My husband is also now enjoying it also we are not getting the aftertaste we were getting previously.

    I'm loving the Moccona Barista reserve Rich Espresso. I'll definitely buy again. I'm really keen to try the Cream one now too after reading other reviews.

    The Rich Espresso has helped me through a busy week. I love how easy it is to prepare , how well it dissolves yet still tastes like it's been barista made.

  • Love my coffee strong like Rich Espresso

    I enjoy a strong coffee and Moccona Rich Espresso is exactly what I've ordered but made at home and can easily be made at work. It's convenient and so robust in taste and smoothness that I easily find myself making another before lunch is over.

  • Have to purchase another.

    So after my last review saying the guys decided they wanted to try Barista Reserve and purchasing the Rich Espresso for them .....wait for it, the tin disappeared. Well actually the story goes one of my guys was called into work on an emergency early morning job with two more work colleges. Apparently the robust full-bodied flavour gave them their early morning loved coffee hit and the odd cup or two throughout the morning helped them stay focused. Verdict: They are all Barista Reserve fans now.

    So after my review of the Crema (for the gals) the guys decided they wanted to try the Barista Coffee as well. The purchase was for the Moccona Barista Reserve Rich Espresso. They love it, it's strong and robust but smooth and does not leave a bitter after taste. Wakes them up in the morning and has that delicious roasted aroma.

    This is farewell to my reviews of this most amazing Moccona Barista Reserve Crema. The gals just LoVe it to bits and rave over the lovely crema top. They also comment that it is as good as the coffee they purchase at their fav cafe. And have even said they are considering purchasing a tin for the work room kitchen. Now to the tin it is sooo pretty with its pastel shade but the contents in the tin are what sets this divine coffee apart from others.

    I packed my Moccona Barista Reserve into my checkin luggage ready for our one month holiday in Ireland and Iceland. Waking up every morning in our rental campervan, we have a cup of Australian coffee! We also have it in our keep cup while travelling on the road! Loved it! Home away from home!

    I have been a Moccona fan for a long time, but this is the first time I have tried the Barista Reserve and I am an absolute convert.   • Convenient

    I have tried the rich espresso. I found I needed to add extra of this coffee to get enough flavour. At the end of the cup you end up with some residue. I only bought this coffee to try because it was quite a good special in Coles. Moccona is my main coffee to drink at home so thought I would give this new one a try. I think this new coffee is expensive for it's regular cost.

  • Delicious for instant coffee

    I love coffee but quite often, going outside for cafe made coffee is not an easy task and I would prefer not to do it so this is really delicious and really tastes like good coffee that only takes a few minutes in the comfort of my own home.

  • A quality coffee to make at home

    The well balanced flavour was the highlight for me. Though it’s not exactly like a barista-made coffee, when I tried it again using warm frothed milk, it really wasn’t far off. Better than some barista-made coffees for sure. The strength of Moccona Barista Reserve was on the mark and it smelt amazing. Would buy again if I needed instant coffee.

    I would not buy it for the whole price, I would buy it if it is on 50% discount. I like the taste, the aroma, the richness of coffee, I tried the Rich Espresso. I recommend it to all coffee lovers, it is value for money if you will buy it with discounts. We also tried as well the Smooth Espresso, a lighter version of the Rich Espresso.

    As a family of coffee drinkers we absolutely loved the flavour of the Moccona creama We trialled.It had a smooth taste with a wonderful aroma.Rich and creamy.I even gave it relatives when they visited and all of them said it was the best instant coffee they had in a very long time and we’re going to buy the other flavours to try them as well.   • My Mum loved it too !

    I really enjoyed receiving this coffee to review. It does make a lovely creamy coffee without being too strong or bitter. I gave a cup to my Mum. She loves her coffees and is quite fussy about them. I think she is now a convert as she liked it as much as a bought one, she said.

  • Twist

    I decided to give this coffee a twist by making barista mocha using chocolate and Moccana Batista. One minute in the microwave and the whole floor could smell my coffee. Lol... Such an amazing flavour. And yes the mocha turned out to be very yummy and exactly what I wanted. Love it. I'm sure gonna try the other flavours of this coffee. A picture of my mocha at work. Love it! And Moccana has more fans now. Yayyyy

    I am always a bit hesitant to try new coffee products but this one surprised me as it was far better than I thought it would be. It was smooth and rich and just as good as some of the other good products. I recommend that others try to expand their coffee experience and be pleasantly surprised.

    We bought this coffee Crema from Coles yesterday and bought myself a new mug to drink my special coffee. While making coffee I really could smell the difference... So rich and creamy. The aroma was amazing. The taste was amazing too. It was rich , smooth and creamy. I could totally tell the difference between this coffee and other coffees. Loved it and would totally recommend using this Moccona barista.

    It is Very Smooth coffee I like the packaging it is easy to open its easy to spot. The best coffee on the market. I like the name of the range (Barista). My nephew told me he drinks it too whilst I made him a coffee and he says he loves it too. I don't often like instant coffee.

Mum-of-two Rebecca McCracken has spent the last four years reading ingredient lists on pretty much everything she buys at the supermarket.

Like many parents raising kids with food allergies, a quick trip to the supermarket often means checking labels, comparing products and hoping to find something the whole family can eat.

Bec’s four-year-old son and 17-month-old daughter were both born with cow’s milk protein allergy. While her son has since outgrown his allergies, her toddler still reacts to dairy, making even everyday staples like bread a challenge.

“Unless we buy expensive sourdough for seven or eight dollars, we don’t really have a choice.”

Even then, it’s not ideal.

“A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich,” Bec laughs. “And fairy bread on sourdough is not great.”

A New Loaf On The Block

Bec runs an online community for allergy families, so she spends plenty of time sharing recipes, product finds and supermarket discoveries with other parents.

It was one of those parents who first told her about new JUST bread.

“A follower messaged me and said, ‘Oh my gosh, this bread is coming soon.’ I was like, ‘Where? When? I need to know. I’m getting my car keys and running!'”

Made with baker’s flour, water, yeast, vinegar, oil and salt, JUST bread contains no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours.

For Bec, it sounded almost too good to be true. “When we saw JUST bread, I was like, ‘You’re joking.’ A bread that’s fresh baked but in the bread aisle? That’s unheard of for us.”

“It was really exciting for our family and for the allergy community.”

The Family’s Toughest Critic Approved

Of course, there was one person whose opinion mattered more than anyone else’s.

“My toughest critic is my daughter. She is so fussy. We know something is really good if she approves it, and she approves it. She loves it. She’ll eat it plain, toasted, as French toast … whatever. She loves it.”

Bec says she was impressed too.

“I like it. I like that it’s only got minimal ingredients and doesn’t have the additives and preservatives that are in a lot of other brands.”

A Simpler Option For Everyday Families

Bec tried out JUST bread because of her family’s allergies, but she says it has a broader appeal.

“I think everyone is becoming more conscious of additives and preservatives in their food.”

It’s a feeling many of us can probably relate to. We don’t all want to overhaul the way we eat, but plenty of us are paying a little more attention to ingredient lists and looking for products that keep things simple.

Bread is one of those foods that’s always around. It ends up in lunchboxes, on the breakfast table, alongside soup on a cold night and covered in hundreds and thousands at birthday parties. When we eat something that often, it’s only natural to wonder what’s in it.

For Bec, finding a loaf of bread her whole family can enjoy is about more than ticking another item off the shopping list.

Being able to make sandwiches without worrying about ingredients. Packing lunchboxes a little more easily. Bringing back fairy bread for birthdays. Sometimes it’s the little things that make family life feel a whole lot simpler.

And while Bec found JUST bread because she needed another allergy-friendly option, its simple ingredient list is likely to appeal to plenty of other families too. After all, when we can choose everyday foods made with ingredients we recognise, that’s a pretty good place to start.

  • I am so glad to hear about this and will definitely be on a look out for this in the supermarket. I have noticed that there are starting to be more ‘cleaner’ products in the supermarket, meaning consumers are being heard. We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

I have noticed that there are starting to be more ‘cleaner’ products in the supermarket, meaning consumers are being heard. We are going full circle back to how foods use to be produced before companies got greedy and started taking shortcuts to producing food items. I hope we continue seeing more preservative and additive free options that are affordable come back in the supermarkets.

  • Grabbing your car keys and running for a bread ?? I can’t imagine doing so for a bread lol ! It’s nice to see that more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and put on the market.
    I don’t agree with the statement that “A kid doesn’t want to eat a sourdough sandwich”. It depends on what type of bread you introduce to your kids. My kids grew up with 7 seeds, rustic bread and sourdough and they love it. It’s also quite easy and cheap to make sourdough bread yourself.

  • I haven’t seen this bread in the supermarket but will be looking for it now. I have been trying to avoid preservatives and additives for some time now and as highlighted in the article bread it difficult to find, or super expensive, without them so I don’t have it often.

  • This is fantastic, finally a bread that is not full of nasty stuff. I will be going straight out to buy this. My son has ARFID and will only eat white bread, but it’s not terribly healthy. With this bread, at least I know that it is much healthier than the alternatives. Woohoo

  • I cant wait to give this bread a go (so far its always been sold out at my local woolies so it must be good). So good its suitable for those with allergies too. I think nowadays were all looking for cleaner options of ingredients in our foods so this is a step in the right direction.

  • I am glad more and more allergy friendly products are being produced and offered. I don’t agree with Bec’s statement that kids don’t like sourdough bread. My kids were introduced to sourdough and the most rustic and seeded breads from the time they started to eat bread, and they love it

  • Oh I cannot wait to try this bread! We go through that much bread each week and I always feel so guilty with how much my kids have – not anymore! Would love to see them introduce other variants in the future – multigrain and gluten free would be superb!

  • This is such a great product that I’m looking forward to trying! I’ve only been buying bread from bakeries the last few years because grocery store bread texture was so dense and unpleasant. But the hassle with bakery bread is I can’t get it everywhere! I’ll be really keen to give this a go
