  • The year-round cleaning essential -- especially if you have cleaning brain-fog (like me)!

    The Oates Microfibre Cloths are fantastic and your next spring cleaning essential (especially for dusting and wiping down surfaces). Their ultra-fine fibers trap dust and dirt effectively, making them superior to traditional cloths and paper towels, and the clear labelling is fantastic for remembering which areas to use them! I can never recall which cloths to use for what, and these are such a time-saver and game-changer for me with the identifiable labels!!! An added bonus is their ability to be re-sued and cleaned through the wash, so helping reduce waste and support recycling. I've loved them so much I even went and purchased a second pack!

    I loved trying this Oats Microfibre Cloth Cleaning kit!   • The microfiber kit with maximum usage

    Oates have delivered a cleaning kit that has everything you need to have every surface in the house sparkling. I am extremely impressed with the performance. I've never used a bathroom cloth that was so effective on the mirrors and didn't require a cleaning solution. Getting the blue bathroom microfiber cloth a little damp removed all smudges, soap, toothbrush splashes and finger prints. I'll never have to buy a bottle of blue solution to tackle the mirrors! The stainless steel microfiber cloth worked wonders on my sink handles and stove top. All the clothes actually deliver on their cleaning promises, and are machine and hand washable to use again and again. This will cut down not only on the waste of disposable cloths but the amount of cleaning products I buy. I highly recommend kitting out your cleaning cupboard with this microfiber kit.

    Love that the clothes have different colours and tags for their usage. My favourite is the glass cloth. My induction stove top have never been shiner!

    These four cloths covers all surface around the house. No need to buy more cloths. Highly recommend!!

    The Oates Microfibre 4 pack cleaning Kit is fantastic value for money and does the whole house. I love the glass cloth, it cleans with just water and leaves a streak free shine. The stainless steel cloths is great for all your appliances. The kitchen cloth is really a great all rounder and the dusting cloth is great for shelves.

  • A cloth for every occasion

    Although I do clean multiple surfaces in my household with different cloths, there is usually nothing special about the cloths that makes them more suited to one surface over the other. For me, I tend to buy a packet of cloths and then keep each one for separate surfaces.

    I was interested to see how these specialised microfibres cloths would perform and was excited to have the opportunity to trial them.

    I loved the idea that these cloths could be used wet or dry and with no added detergents.

    The first cloth I trialled was the pink one for general dusting duties. By the look of the thick layer of dust on my light fittings, it seems that I have been saving up my dusting until this cloth came along! Being microfibre the dust was attracted to the cloth and whisked away quite quickly.

    The second cloth I trialled was the grey one for stainless steel appliances and surfaces. I found the best place for me to use this would be on the outside of my oven door which always looks so streaky and doesn’t have the shiny reflective look it should. Wow, this cloth was magic and my oven door has never looked so shiny. It did require some elbow grease to get going but the outcome was well worth it. I also then trialled this cloth on the stainless steel light fittings that I had dusted earlier with the pink cloth. This cloth was very effective at removing some of the crusted/rusted marks and restore my light fittings to their glorious shiny state.

    The third cloth was the blue one for glass, mirrors and technology surfaces like touch screens. I trialled this on my bathroom cabinet mirror and it worked wonders. Streak free clean. I added a little water to help clean away some more adhered marks.

    The fourth cloth was the green one for general kitchen cleaning. I decided to trial this on my kitchen bench. Being the meal preparation area, there are always some tricky, sticky, marks and stains. This cloth dealt with them in a swift manner and soon enough the bench appeared clean and smooth.

    I love that these cloths can be washed in the washing machine and it’s great that they are each specialised for different surfaces. I’m converted!

    We Love the Oates microfibre cloth packs. The colour codes and labelling make it easier and convenient. The clothes have lasted a long time and very easy to use. The microfibre works well and gets the job done. The dusting cloth works well at holding onto the dust and not dropping.

    Set of 4 microfiber cleaning cloths that are not only colour coded, but clearly labelled so you can't go wrong. The set includes a cloth for Kitchen, Glass, Stainless Steel & Dusting. I was impressed with the effectiveness of all of the cloths, but the stainless steel one really stood out. It left my surface sparkling clean without any streaks or spots in sight. Love that you can throw them in the washing machine when needed & they can all be used wet or dry.

    Love that this pack has four different types of cloths and the labels are clear to see! It’s handy knowing I won’t easily mix up the cloths and each one works on its specific surface. The glass one was a game changer for me! I even used it just with water spray rather than a glass spray and it cleaned my bathroom mirrors so well. So easy to just chuck in the wash when they’re dirty, so very environmental friendly too!

    I love the different colours and tags for different purposes so we don't get mixed up between them all. I've been using cleaning products from another online retailer which uses a cleaning solution and clothes but the Oates microfibre cloth has been great with just wetting the cloths - no chemicals!

    We recently moved house (again) and it blows my mind how houses are handed over. I am honestly disgusted at the filth some people clearly live in and then do not clean even when they leave. DISGUSTED.

    What a fantastic opportunity to test out some cleaning products!

    The labeled cloths are soft and I like the colour coding. I used a few different products for my ‘ingoing’ clean and I can be pretty rough on cloths! They’ve washed up a treat and i just threw them in with a regular towel wash.

    An example of the Kitchen cloth after use attached but I forgot to take a photo of it once cleaned but before I used it again (it's in the wash basket again) but I assure you it came up good as new. 10/10

I've never used a bathroom cloth that was so effective on the mirrors and didn't require a cleaning solution. Getting the blue bathroom microfiber cloth a little damp removed all smudges, soap, toothbrush splashes and finger prints. I'll never have to buy a bottle of blue solution to tackle the mirrors! The stainless steel microfiber cloth worked wonders on my sink handles and stove top. All the clothes actually deliver on their cleaning promises, and are machine and hand washable to use again and again. This will cut down not only on the waste of disposable cloths but the amount of cleaning products I buy. I highly recommend kitting out your cleaning cupboard with this microfiber kit.

    Love that the clothes have different colours and tags for their usage. My favourite is the glass cloth. My induction stove top have never been shiner!

    These four cloths covers all surface around the house. No need to buy more cloths. Highly recommend!!

    Absolutely loved this product and loved how they’re colour coded and even labeled “glass/kitchen… etc”. These honestly worked really well, especially loved the glass and stainless steel ones! Honestly leaves a streak free finish on my kitchen splash back! I haven’t found anything that’s works as well and as easily!

    The stainless steal was great too, great for surfaces like fridge handles/doors/oven handles and rangehoods!

    The dusting one was great, wiped off dust easily and quickly.

    My only annoyance with these is the packaging - it left little holes in my cloth in particular the stainless steel and glass ones!

    Would recommend to friends and family.

7 Simple Ideas That’ll Save You Hours Every School Week

If every school week is more like an episode of Survivor at your place, don’t worry, you’re not alone! The struggle to stay on top of the school week mayhem is real – so we’ve put together a bunch of clever ideas to give you back some precious time (and sanity).

There’s nothing difficult about these tips, just solid advice and ideas from a mum who’s been in the school trenches for over a decade.

1. Teach The Kids To Make Some Simple Breakfasts

Hang on, this is about breakfast, why are we showing you a picture of mouth-watering cookies?! These are Four Ingredient Healthy Breakfast Cookies – perfect for a prep-ahead school day brekkie!

Depending on their age there are so many safe and easy breakfasts kids can make themselves. From toasties, to yoghurt pots prepped the night before or just cereal. Not having to make breakfast for everyone will literally save you hours every week!

2. Lay Out Clothes For The Week

Use a hanging organiser or labelled baskets for each day. Include uniforms, socks and undies. Kids can dress themselves without the drama of missing items. I’ll be honest, my kids’ uniforms are expensive, so I wash during the week as they only have a couple of sets. However, if nothing else, having just socks and underwear sorted for the week is an absolute lifesaver!

 

The other huge help is not having to pre-treat stains on my kids’ uniforms, nobody has time for that during the week! My extra tip here is to use a great quality laundry detergent that is powerful enough to remove stains in-wash, so you don’t need to worry about pre-treating. 4. Plan A Weekly School Admin Session

Answer school emails, sign permission forms, top up canteen accounts and check term calendars in one go instead of daily interruptions. You may only need to do this fortnightly or monthly, but just make sure you schedule it in your calendar. Trust me, it saves so much time compared to juggling things bit by bit!

5. Quick-Fire Cleaning Sessions

Set a timer for ten minutes in the afternoon, pop on some music and everyone tidies their zone. This includes the kids emptying their lunchboxes, washing their drink bottles, handing you any notes and putting their clothes in the wash. Small bursts like this stop the house turning into chaos by Friday.

6. Have A Snack Station

Keep a drawer or fridge shelf filled with ready portions. Kids can pack their own snacks for school, and also grab something to eat when they get home. Think ahead and include them in the weekly shopping – ask them what snacks they would like (and cross your fingers they’ll still like them all week!).

7. Set Up A Family Charging Station

One spot for iPads, laptops and phones. No searching for chargers or discovering a dead laptop ten minutes before school! Make sure each child puts their school device on charge when they get home, as part of their Quick-Fire Cleaning Session.

While we can’t promise your school weeks won’t have moments of chaos, taking some of these tips on board will save you time – even if it’s just five minutes here and there. It’s about building realistic habits for the whole family, that will hopefully bring some calm to the school week.

  • There are some great ideas here! I just use an old school paper calender but its so helpful to remember all the important dates – i always buy a family planner one so theres columns for each of us to write what were doing om certain days so we never run out of space! I need a snack station, but struggle to have healthy (or healthier) choices in the cupboard apart from the usual chips, rice crackers and museli bars!

  • There are some good hints here! I already do have a little snack station in my pantry – a large container filled with all sorts of bars, etc. It’s the first place the kids look for something to eat. I do like the idea of a charging station but I don’t think it would work in my house. Everyone seems to like charging things in their room and it could look messy with multiple cords.

Most of these I already do but it has reminded me to add a few other things to my list to organise before the school year starts in a couple of weeks. Helpful tips like this are so great as you can never remember everything and this sure has given me a few extra things to think about.

  • I love this article. I can relate to a lot of these ideas. For instance, I have a snack shelf in my pantry so my kids can choose and pack their own snacks. No more asking them what they want. We also have a family charging station in the kitchen. iPads, laptops and phones are only allowed to be charged on the kitchen bench. I love the healthy cookies. I must give these a go. The family calendar system is a must too!

  • I totally agree with most of these. We bought some inexpensive cereal dispensers, and that made mornings much easier. And school admin? For me, that is every Wednesday right before a regular appointment. It fitted in perfectly, I never overlooked anything, and if I didn’t need it it was a glorious burst of free time.

  • I love this article and the tips and already follow many of them. I have always been a big fan of schedules and planners and they simply make sense and make sure everyone in the family is on task. I also love snack stations; one for the fridge and one for the pantry; again it makes sense and makes preparing food and lunchboxes and snack times easy.
