  • You can Rely on Woolworths Select.

Occasionally my toilet trained girls have accidents and during the winter time I like to put them in nappies at night just cause it is so cold and I am glad that I have Woolworths Select Once upon a time Nappies floating around, just pop them on and away we go. Great for moments when you just need them. I know I can rely on Woolworths Select Once Upon a Time nappies.

  • Great for toilet training!

Great for using when toilet training, easy to get on and come off, reusable if not wet, my girls will use again and again for the day if dry and its a great reward to have a dry nappy. But if they accidently wet themselves they go to the change table and grab a woollies once upon a time one over our other brand. That says something! 🙂

  • Using for a while now

I have repurchased this product after trialling it out. My current brand is ALDI and Huggies and I now also use Woolworths Select once upon a time nappies also now. They are definitely great during the busy times of the day, easy to get in and out of and reusable when toddler is toilet training and nappy is dry. I have recommended the nappy to quite a number of people now and my cousin loves using them and will continue to use them.
Thanks Woolworths and Mouth of Mums for letting me review your products 🙂

  • Great value for money.

I loved using these nappies. They have the absorbency & quality of the top end nappies without the hefty price tag. I used them on my 2.5 year old and never had a leak. I will definitely be buying them again and will recommend them to all my mummy friends.

  • Great for multiple children - Right kind of nappy!

Its great value especially when you have more than one in nappies. I have twin girls and twice the amount of nappies used then my first daughter. Having the right nappy, one that doesn’t leak during the day when they are at their busiest is what most mums are looking for. To have the peace and mind that your child is dry, comfy and enjoying their day without being wet and uncomfortable is what Woolworths select Once a Time Nappies is all about.

  • Great nappy pants too!

My friend absolutely loved the nappy pants for her daughter, she thought that they were so soft and had lots of padding to keep her daughter comfy. She had no leakages and was quite surprised with the stretchiness of the nappy. Since then she had bought Woolworths Select Once Upon a time Nappies and will continue to buy them.

  • good for cheap nappies

I have just started using once upon a time nappies as i am struggling financially at the moment. I always use huggies or babylove because they have so much protection and mostly a good fit. After using the once upon a time nappies I realised they don’t last as long as the others they have less absorption andless protectiong

  • Definitely a better choice nappy!

Woolworths Select Once Upon a Time nappies are fantastic value for money. They definitely compare extremely well to the more expensive brands especially with their triple layer technology and the double leg cuffs which isn’t something that is available across all brands.

Once Upon a Time nappies offer a wonderful fit which is secure, yet comfortable and doesn’t leave any impressions on the child’s skin from wear.

I am extremely happy with the quality of these nappies and would definitely recommend them as well as use them again.

Another thing which adds to the convenience of this product is that as it is a Woolworths item you can purchase them online and have them delivered along with your groceries. Whereas if you purchase a brand which is only available at one particular chain of supermarket which doesn’t offer online shopping nor delivery you don’t really have this option.

I highly rate Woolworths Select Once Upon a Time nappies, and truly appreciate the opportunity to trial this fantastic product thank you so very much!

  • great alternative to the major brands!

My first impressions of these nappies were definitely proved wrong!
I’m using the 4kg-8kg pack and originally, I felt they looked cheap & not very absorbent. They’re great once on & don’t look too bulky like some brands do.
First night of wearing the nappies and my 11 week old slept more than 8 hours and we had no leaks!!
I don’t have a preference when doing my food shopping, but I will definitely buy these when shopping at Woolworths.

  • We use the nappy pants.

My 3 year old son it toilet trained during the day but not at night. We were really struggling getting him to keep a normal nappy on at night so I thought I would try nappy pants. These ones offered the best value for money and worked great. I’ll keep buying them as long as we need them.

  • Amazing price but not a good fit for us

I am always keen to find ways to save many so I tried these nappies on Miss A who was 8 months. They were too cheap not to try. Unfortunately they just weren’t a great fit for us. We experience leaks up the back and they left lots of red marks around Miss A’s chubby thighs. Not for us.

  • Not something I'll buy in the future!

This was a baby shower gift. Tried it when bub was a newborn. Didn’t fit him well. Had to immediately change the brand. Not sure if it was because of our bub was a bit tiny. Overall a satisfactory product but don’t think I’ll buy in the future as I’m sticking with Aldi nappies.

  • Not impressed

I was so disappointed in the quality of the once upon a time nappies and nappy pants. They were so thin that I found one wee from my son was enough to soak through the material in the nappy and wet himself and his clothes. Nappy pants…up to 15kg, didn’t even fit my son. So small the ripped going on

  • Not great

They are a great price, but unfortunately I had nothing but problems. My son would wet right through them in just a daytime nap or even while I was holding him which meant that I got peed on. And the nappy pants, I bought the size that’s walker/ crawler 10-15 kg and they were that small that they ripped going into my 11.4 kg son. I much prefer their “little ones” brand.

  • My favourite... :(

I am so sad that they have decided to discontinue this brand of nappies and only keep the nappy pants. i don’t feel that nappy pants are the best value unfortunately. ALso, the one size fits all doesn’t seem to fit my bubs. On one they’re too big and fall down, on the other they’re too small and don’t stay up. Can’t win. Please bring back the nappies. They were hands down the best on the market.

  • The best nappy on the market

Oh my god, I absolutely love these nappies. Large enough, absorbent, they fit baby well. They come in great designs, the weight range is suitable per each stage of development. I am so so disappointed that they appear to have gotten rid of these nappies and replaced them with nappy pants instead. Bring them back please!!!!

  • I am Back!

    I am back!
My baby son was born 3rd January 2016, 6 days late, didn’t want to come, was too cosy inside… Anyways we have started using Once Upon A Time nappies again! Yes Again! After the positive outcome we’ve had with our twins, we’ve decided to give it a go with our Son. This time round we have had a few leakages at night, guessing can’t use for more than 8-10hours and maybe being a boy its different than girls? Not sure? Day nappy is fine, wee’s are fine, poo’s seem to leak, well ours do but maybe I had a weird batch or something. I still like them so giving them a go.

I found these nappies really good. I was given them by my sister in law as her son had gone up a size and I used them on my infant boy (4-6kg sizing) and they fit well, we had no leakage and was very happy with the quality and happy with the price too.

  • Not ideal for boys

Having two young boys I am very aware of the cost of nappies! For this reason I have tried pretty much every product on the market. Unfortunately these do not stack up! My boys wee through these during the night, they also cause little heat rashes whereas other brands I use do not at all. I won’t use them again unless they change their style and material. Sorry just not a fan

  • surprisingly great

Being a massive fan of snugglers for absorbancy, I tried once upon a time when snugglers werent available at my chemist, I loved the snug fit, the tabs were strong enough for him to not rip off and the absorption was fantastic! • Cheap, but not so nasty. :D

I like these nappies. My baby prefers Huggies, but I like these for when he isn’t feeling well, because he has numerous extra nappy changes, these are so much cheaper, and I feel less guilty for changing them so fast. Lol. They are quite good, though. We can’t expect a $5 pack of nappies to be in the same league as a $30 pack of nappies, but for the price… they’re fantastic! I recommend them for day use, but not so much for night. I find the legs to be much wider than similar sized Huggies, so accidents are inevitable over night. That said, my bub has skinny legs. 😀

  • Once upon a time

I bought Once upon a time nappies when they were discounted to try them out and I was quite surprised about the quality despite the fact that they were so much cheaper than Huggies and Babylove. Although they appear to be less padded and absorbent, we never had any leakage issues at all. I would buy them again and recommend to other mothers.

  • Good & cheap, but Coles for the win.

Comparing nappies was a big thing for me, trying to find the perfect fit to mold to my daughters chubby body was needed to avoid many many poo explosions. I found that although at a cheap price they just felt cheap.. Whereas Coles are cheap still, but the quality was much higher. The absorption was good, but could of been better.

  • Value for money

The Woolworths Select Once Upon a Time nappies would have to be one of my favourite nappies. I’ve used brand nappies and found that the Woolworths nappies are equivalent if not better than them. All nappies leak occasionally but I found these to be more leak proof and less bulky.

nice nappies to have for your young one, great absorption and hold alot of liquid, keeps the explosions at bay too if gotten to quickly. lovely patterns on them making the easy to decipher which size and type you need for your little one. Recommended to friends who were using the more expensive nappies and they love then now and use them more often too. Well priced and come in a larger pack for those who dont like having to go to the shops often to get more and more stuff.

I absolutely love these nappies. I used them on my son and found they were equivalent to brand nappies if not better. I again used them when my granddaughter came along and now her little brother is also using the Woolworths Select Once Upon a Time nappies. Great nappies and great price.

  • Best nappy I've used

I used Woolworths Select Once Upon A Time Nappies on my son and found they worked better than some highly recommended brands. I’ve used them again when my granddaughter was born 3 years ago and now for my grandson. They leak less than Huggies nappies and you can pick up a small packet for around $6 when they’re on sale. I find that these nappies are cheap so value for money but they leak easily. I would never use them overnight again but for during the day they are fine. They are about half the price of my usual brand but for the peace of mind and not having to change sheets everyday I choose Huggies over this brand. Thank you moths of mums and Woolworths for offering this review. I think there could be some work done on these nappies but in the price range they are the bests

  • Very absorbent

I started using Woolworth’s Once Upon A Time newborn nappies with my baby when I ran out of the Newborn Huggies I had. I found them to be just as absorbant and a better fit. The price is more reasonable too, and once you move into Infant size, the nappies can be purchased in bulk.

My baby has never had an poo leaks and the nappies have a cute print and grip tabs. Odour is contained well enough, and the outer cover is smooth and soft. Moisture is pulled away from the skin and my son doesn’t get any rashes or redness.

Definitely recommend to anyone who wants an alternative to Huggies that is just as good, if not better.

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.

  • I absolutely love the bb box quite sturdy. It took many lunch box to find one that would last. Before this lunch box we had a stuck on you. I found the stuck on you lunch box didn’t last when the hinge’s snapped they wouldn’t get back to me (only had for a short time and my youngest couldn’t open it so it wasn’t dropped. Just opened it after the 8th time and snapped). The bb box has lasted the last year and a half and still going strong
