When you go out for coffee or lunch you put your moblie phone away and enjoy your company otherwise it is rude!

My husband is also constantly on his phone! Annoying!!

Totally agree, I find it do rude when people are constantly checking their mobiles when you are catching up with them. How hard is it to put them away for an hour or so?

When we were at a Chinese restaurant the other day I noticed a family gathering at one table spent most of their time texting or reading when they were supposably there for a birthday celebration. The only time they stopped was to sing Happy Birthday when the cake came out! Whatever did we do before mobiles were invented! It was sad not hearing any happy conversation like it should have been.

We are becoming such an unsocial society and it is so common to see people walking around on their phone (not watching where they are going), out at restaurants on their phones and not talking…it is sad!

Yeah, I never have my phone out when I’m out with someone – and I don’t answer it either, unless the call is from my husband or babysitter.

I know how you feel. I know that I do use my phone a lot but there is a time and place.

I agree! When I am having a coffee with someone the phone is on silent and I don’t answer it.

  Good on you! I always have too much to talk about anyway; so I forget about my phone!

I am with you! I will not talk to someone if they are looking at their phone! The person in front of you is far more important than the person on the other end of the phone. I suggest you take both phones and place them in a bag when you go out for coffee and give them back at the end of the coffee! Might work?
