Hello!

I found this in a notebook I had been writing in months ago. I thought in addition to kicking off my blog with it I would share it here. This was written in poem form hoping that my son would be able to read it one day sooner than later. I have written a lot over the last few years but never felt confident to share. But I have since been publishing it in the hope it might make ONE person feel like they are not alone.

Let me tell you a story about Ryan

A baby boy who was told he was dying

They said the tumour is multiplying

His mother whispered to him “They are lying”

~~~
He lived another day and then another week
Along come the labels and the answers we seek
9 years on Ryan’s Mother tries to speak….
~~~

You were sent here to make change

Before you I only felt pain

You gave me a whole new perspective

Your warmth and your gaze – it’s infective

~~~
Even though your still with me breathing
I know the trauma still has you grieving
Ryan, In you I will never stop believing
Even though others might think your fight is deceiving.
~~~

Ryan I’ll fight for you until the day I die

The school system, The health system will hear me cry

Because my son you changed my life , Without you my spark would die

“`

I have days where I sound like I’m dead

Don’t worry little man I’m not finished yet

~~~
There is no giving up on you or me
The day I get gave birth you were meant to be
You symbolise strength no matter how much you struggle
Your 9 years of life has been such a juggle
~~~

I want you to know you’re worth every step

Every Tear-drop, Every sigh, Every drop of sweat

~~~
You don’t know it now but you will be OK
None of this matter matter when you’re an adult one day
I’ll tell you not to yell but please try to behave
I’ll teach you in life you’re nobody’s slave
~~~

All I can wish is you learn from your mistakes

Not keep to repeat them for your own sake

~~~
You have received the gift of life
Through your own initial fight
It wasn’t handed on a platter or delivered without pain
You fought that monster that tried to take your brain
~~~

Lets to put it all behind us and move on to better things

Like love & laughter, let’s spend our time like kings

~~~
You can ready more about our journey over the coming weeks at https://amazingbeautifulindividual.wordpress.com/
