Hello!

I was shopping this week and noticed 2 shops had already started putting up Christmas decorations and selling christmas things as a feature. How early is too early? It is only october! We have Halloween which is being marketed at the moment in most places and usually it then goes straight into Christmas but that is the 1st November which is early enough but to market it in October seems quite early! I thought about this and realized we only have 6 more weeks of school and I like to get all the christmas shopping out the way before the holidays so I can buy gifts with out the kids seeing, so thought perhaps it is not too early after all! But buying decorations in October for some reason just seems strange! So I will wait until later to get the decorations!

  • Well I am thinking of Christmas all year round as i buy wrapping paper and any new decorations I like after Christmas when it is reduced and I start layby presents as I find them on sale so I never pay full price for a Christmas present I buy bit and pieces for stockings during the year and the last thing I have to do at this time of year is Christmas Day food

  • I think it’s ridiculous. As soon as Christmas is over, it’s valentines day, then Easter etc etc. it is way to early but it’s a way of making us spend. We are doing home made hampers with jams, relishes etc so they won’t get much out of me I’m glad to say :)

  • I feel that it is far too early, it starts to drain one of the Christmas Spirit. Though I do try and have all my shopping done before the Christmas Carols start coming over the loud speakers :)
