Please all mums out there if you really think there is something wrong with your child and your not getting the help you need go for a second or even third opinion. I have always followed my gut and it has always been right. We are the voices for our children if we don’t push for them no one will.
This is not directed from any 1 situation just feel new mums especially need to know that even though they are new trust yourself and don’t be afraid as no one knows your child better than you!!!

  • yes! thankyou! this is the advice that new mums need! that is great! it can be so easy to second guess yourself because it is all new but we do need to trust our instincts!

  • I don’t think I ever had gut instinct :( I could see one if my kids were sick, took them to the Dr and they were sick. I understand his new parents can be put off by asking for help though. I never was

  • I hear you and have lived it and breathed and constantly have to push and listen to my own intuition!

  • Very well said. I couldn’t agree more

  • Cannot agree more. I was sent away from specialist children hospital with a 3 year old with very high temps and vomiting. I was told it was a virus and sent home – told to come back in 2 days if not better – told no need for panadol or nurofen as it would not stay down and she would get better anyway. Within hours and trying to give fluids (none stayed down) and even higher temps, child could hardly stand. Went to a private hospital and she spent 3 days on a ward. So glad I went with my gut on this one. Always will in future and always advise other to do the same – if you think an opinion is not right, get another one. It was an aggressive bacterial infection that required intravenous antibiotics followed by 2 courses of oral antibiotics.

    • I’m glad you followed your intuition!!

      • Perfect example of why we need to trust ourselves

      • As mums we need to push when people say “no” when we know better!
