yes! thankyou! this is the advice that new mums need! that is great! it can be so easy to second guess yourself because it is all new but we do need to trust our instincts!

I don’t think I ever had gut instinct I could see one if my kids were sick, took them to the Dr and they were sick. I understand his new parents can be put off by asking for help though. I never was

Cannot agree more. I was sent away from specialist children hospital with a 3 year old with very high temps and vomiting. I was told it was a virus and sent home – told to come back in 2 days if not better – told no need for panadol or nurofen as it would not stay down and she would get better anyway. Within hours and trying to give fluids (none stayed down) and even higher temps, child could hardly stand. Went to a private hospital and she spent 3 days on a ward. So glad I went with my gut on this one. Always will in future and always advise other to do the same – if you think an opinion is not right, get another one. It was an aggressive bacterial infection that required intravenous antibiotics followed by 2 courses of oral antibiotics.
