Hello!

I will start by saying we currently have in our care 2 poddy lambs that lost their mum to the drought in western QLD. So on Monday my little boy is playing happily by myself while the baby is asleep (ahhh peace and a chance to do some house work). I head outside to track him down and hang the washing out. What a sight greets me as I entered the laundry – the lambs milk powder from wall to wall (the dogs are very happy about this – licking it up furiously). So we have a quiet chat about not touching the powder, I go to the shed for the toddler proof container my husband was supposed to put the powder in on the weekend and start sweeping when I notice that the washing machine is turned off and the powder dispenser is slightly open (front loader). Oh no. He loves opening and shutting that thing. He has also watched me multiple times putting the powder in. I close my eyes and open it up. Chockers full of milk powder (this stuff is $85 for 16kg). I scrape as much out as possible but unfortunately its jam packed down the hole leading into the machine. So nothing for it but to run a full cycle through the machine. Anyone else ever made milk in their washing machine?

Post your story
  • An Uncle of mine was working on a car and had removed the motor. He started to climb over the top into the engine baby and was about to put his foot down on the floor when he heard a little voice say “I help you Daddy”. He managed to keep his foot off the floor so he didn’t squash his son, get back out of the engine bay, took him inside and told his Mum to lock the door. It was the first time their son had opened the door. They hadn’t realised he could reach the handle. (His Mum had gone to the toilet and hadn’t realised junior had “escaped”)

  • So the title was intriguing and the story didn’t disappoint.

  • Oh no! Have you never heard the saying “When they’re quiet, that’s when you worry.” You never be happy about peace and quiet when you have a 2 year old. Lol. Did you manage to get the washing machine cleaned out?

  • Lol, I can see the funny side of things though I also sympathize with you over the waste of the expensive milk powder. At your son’s 21st you will all have a good laugh over it. I would love to send this to my cousins in the country, they would get a laugh out of it while appreciating your frustration. Our son when a toddler, unbeknownst to us, had a fascination for the cd slot in the VCR. The VCR broke down twice within 2 weeks and my husband took it in for repairs. My husband was not a happy man and said so to the repairman who then showed him the cause of the breakdowns. Our son had been putting in earring cards into the VCR opening jamming it! He had been watching us put cds in so he had followed suit.

    • Another great story for the 21st birthdays.
