Hello!

So, I am currently 32 weeks pregnant. All you mums out there will likely understand the nocturnal bathroom trips that accompany being 32 weeks pregnant! So, last night I was asleep by say 7pm (Grandma, I know). When I heard that all to familiar ‘ding ding’ at some awful hour of the night (ok, it WAS only 11pm) I knew it was time for my dear partner to head to his night shift. It was also time for this pregnant woman to have her first of many night time pee trips. I sat up in bed and listened for the clanging of noise – that being my partner getting ready to leave and I heard the toilet lid flick up. I thought in my sleepy state that I would wait till her had finished so that the lights were off. Because you know that feeling when you leave a dark room and someone switches a light on?! Torture!! My eyes deserved a rest, and hey, I was as good as still asleep. I heard the flush so got up and began the waddle down the hallway. I heard the light flick off and saw the sillhouette of my dear darling partner enter the opposite end of the hallway. What happened next was a blur. I heard this “OOH!” and heard BOOM BOOM BOOM as my partner came running down the hallway towards me. The thought that flashed through my sleeping mind was “Oh I’m going to get a cuddle” then next thing I’m reeling and have this sharp pain in my right breast. I was definitely more awake, shocked and a little sore! My dear partner is suddenly on the ground saying “Oh my gosh, I didn’t know it was you, I thought it was a monster so I was ready to attack, I’m SO sorry!!”

I waddled back to bed in my semi shocked state and went back to sleep and he left for work.

When he came home from work he was extremely apologetic, though has established a rule that I am not allowed to creep through the house with the lights off.

I have placed hazard lights, a siren and high vis gear on my shopping list. It is really very funny now I look back on it!!
