I was a healthy 22 year old when I conceived. I worked doing warehousing up until I wasn’t allowed to work anymore (October 2009) the further along I got in pregnancy the less my work allowed me to do. Through out my pregnancy I had constant problems which seen me in hospital being monitored. They always told me my baby was fine. At 23 weeks they gave me steroids to form my daughters lungs because they believed she was going to come early. Finally I was at the end of my pregnancy when I woke up and thought ild wet the bed, my waters had broken and I was already getting contractions, I rang nurse at the hospital I was attending and she told me that my waters hadn’t broken. Pains got more intense so I went for a check up. I was about 2cm dilated, once again they told me that my waters hasn’t broke, the hospital said I could stay or go home as being my first pregnancy it could be (10)hours before I was fully dialated. I went home but didn’t sleep a wink coz of the pain! The next night I went back to the hospital nearly 24hr after being seen! They were just going to send me home!!! I cracked it and said well are you at least going to check how far dialated I am now? The nurse just looked at me I said well isn’t that what your suppost to do? Or at least read my history? Any ways once again I was only 2cm nothing had changed. I was on the monitors for hours wasn’t allowed out of that darn bed, they put cafita and all. My daughters heart was dropping each time I was contracting!!! This went on for hours again then they decided to break my waters, (when they realized I was right and they has already broken) they kept trying to tell me that I was dehydrated (I was full/bloated from water and had the fluids through I’ve drip) this also went on for hours, the next night they prepped me for c section as my baby was in distress! after the epidural I feel asleep and woke up having to push. I had given birth to my daughter on the 3rd day, but she wasn’t breathing!! She was black (she looked like she didn’t even have a soul you could see straight through her eyes) it took them 7 1/2 min to get her to breathe, I was allowed one quick kiss before they whisked her off to icu, where I was told she would be for the next week or so! My daughter faught and the next day iwas allowed to bring her to my room! 3 years on and Harmony is the most gotgeous brightest clueiest cleverest daughter ever. Drs don’t believe me when they ask about her history as they say politely after being starved of air for so longer brain shouldn’t function as it does they thought she would be slow but my daughter has astonished tgem and me :)
