Hello!

Prior to delivering my baby, I was bombarded with one horrible labour story after the next. I had not one positive story come my way. I want to say that I had a 3.5 hour labour with no complications- it is possible. I know that there are different factors that give every woman a different experience but I think it’s good for expecting mums to know that it’s not always “the worst experience of your life”. I recommend focusing on one step/contraction at a time and remembering that BILLIONS of women have done this before, and will do it after you. Keep a positive frame of mind ;) It is the most incredible experience of your lifeā€¦. x

  • I have to admit, that with my friends stories, they’ve all had different experiences & I haven’t shied away from any of them – they have given me a full run down of pretty much anything that could go wrong (apart from the worst, obviously) to a nice, easy, quick labour. I’m going to go into the ‘situation’ with a positive frame of mind but knowing that it may not go the way I want (3 friends have had emergency ceaser’s).
    Thanks for your positive words!

  • I agree, after falling pregnant with my first all I EVER heard were the horror stories! Why to other mothers like to scare us newbies?
Anyway, I had a fairly short labour and delivered my little boy at home (not by choice). So many people tell me I must of been scared but as I was home alone for most of it I found an inner strength I didn’t know I had and got through it. I delivered in an ambulance in my front yard just as hubby arrived home. No complications and no drugs, I consider myself very lucky.
