In two weeks time now we will be welcoming our new daughter. We bought her new curtains and painted her room. I promised her a shopping trip the day she comes home. My daughter is my husbnds neice she is 11 yers old. Her parents have alcohol and drug dependancies and for the last 8 yes 8 years she has been in and out of care. Just when she would have a stable life with us she would be torn out of our arms and sent back to her ‘parents’ for yet another after rehab attemp to live with them and again we would get phone calls at 5 in the morning from hospitals when her mum or dad had overdosed in front of her and the cycle would start again. I promise you my sweetheart that this time will be different. You are becoming ours legally and you will never have to go with your parents again. I cant wait for you to live with us. The kids cant wait to have a big sister and we cant wait to have another daughter. It is strange to think that i will be a mum again it is something i wanted it’s just happening in an unexpected way.

I applaud you for opening your arms to this young girl. How sad she had to be returned so many times to her dysfunctional parents. I hope you don’t have too many problems raising her after her difficult life. Well done guys
