Hello!

I work in a school as an aide and recently one of the students I work with had a birthday. He was excited about his birthday coming up and I bought him a card and magazine. I used it a little as a reward to get him to concentrate on completing some work. When he opened it he seemed happy but not overjoyed. However, it came back to me from two other teachers, that his mother said it was the first thing he showed her when he went home and she wanted to thank me for being so thoughtful. It seems my small gesture put a smile not just on his face, but that of his mother, the teachers and then myself. It reminded me of the saying my mother used to use: a little kindness goes a long way. How great it would be if the politicians would stop bickering long enough to put back some happiness into life and give help where its truly needed.

  • That is so nice. It’s really good when something small can make someone’s day. Good on you.

  • That’s just lovely. People forget a little goes a long way. All it takes to make my day is for my husband to draw a love heart on the whiteboard we keep on our fridge.
