Hello!

I need advice, my baby is nearly 6 months old and I have had 3-4 periods after having him. They were very regular like clockwork, until my last. It was delayed and then nearly stopped after day 2. I then had VERY mild to very little spotting for another 2-3 days. I have never had something like this. Is this normal and okay?

  • There is no normal for childbirth, child rearing, or recovery. I would suggest keeping an eye on it and if it doesn’t improve, seek medical advice. Good luck, hope it turns out well

  • I’m totally the same, just keep delaying seeing the gp.
Would love to know how you go.
Hope to go myself in the next week

  • After my daughter I did not have periods for 18 months, after my son it took two months and when I got them they were so irregular and then after 4 normal periods it stopped, then 2 months later they started again. Everyone’s body is different and if you are worried I would visit your Dr to get a check up.

  • Yep I agree with other moms advice, a visit to the GP is what is needed.
    Wishing you well.

  • My GP told me that it will take a while before I would get a proper period, how long – well he didn’t say that. If you are worried I would say check with a Dr?

  • Your periods can take some time to settle down after having a baby. Especially with all the hormones coming back to normal and your body repairing. I wouldn’t be too concerned but would suggest you visit your GP

  • It can take a while for it all to settle down… But don’t waste time worrying about it, Go to your Dr :)

    • I agree; worry is not good for anyone.

  • My first few periods were a bit erratic, but if you had some normal ones, it might be best to check with your GP.

  • After having my kids it seemed to take forever for my periods to return to normal…but that’s just me!

  • check with your doc. your body will get back into sync. i had irregular ones after bub. four weeks, then 2 weeks, then four, light or heavy but it normalised out and was all good. don’t stress! you have a lot of hormones in your system and sometimes breastfeeding can affect it
