When we decided to have a second baby we became a little worried about how our little boy would respond to such a life changing event. He’s a fantastic and extremely loving little boy, but he’s only two and a half and has lead a very spoilt life as the only grandchild to both sets of grandparents. We had bought a present for baby to give to him when he came to meet the baby at the hospital and a present for him to give to baby in return. Much to our surprise (and relief!) when he came into the hospital and we did a gift exchange.. he had no interest in the gift at all, all he wanted was to cuddle with his “baby sissy”.

yes we did this! a gift from the new bubby. we asked people to not forget the other child if they decided to buy gifts.

It’s lovely seeing big brothers and sisters meet their new little ones isn’t it? My eldest has been beautiful with his little brother…though we did carry on our family tradition of the new arrival bringing a present for big brother (my mum did it for me with my little brother). As he didn’t get to meet him for 11 days, it helped in getting him excited about why I went missing for a week!
