I am interested in peoples opinions of which website is the best one to use to sell things as I have so many things just laying around and they are just to good to throw away some people say Ebay is the better one but I am unsure of how it actually works and to tell you the truth I am a little scared as I do not know what to expect any help would be much appreciated
Thank you

  • facebook has groups. in our area they are called buy, swap sell preceeded by your suburb name. try a search on fb for one of these groups. they are free and you will be surprised what you can get money for

  • EBay has fees.
I find gumtree to be great. Or even on Facebook your local bss page (buy swap sell)

  • ebay will have sellers fees on things you sell. Easy to get the hang of. Gumtree is free!

  • I generally use eBay. It’s fairly easy to use and everything is step by step so pretty hard to get it wrong. I also use Facebook as they have specific ‘buy,swap/sell’ pages. This is somewhat more unreliable however as I have had people say they’ll buy the item and then never come and pick up.

  • My mother-in-law sold off many home possessions before moving interstate. It is free to advertise. You can communicate through Gumtree or you can nominate to post your contact details. Gumtree have a stringent privacy policy. EBay is also good. There are other specific websites depending on what you wish to sell. If all else fails: garage sale!

  • ebay or gumtree is best. keep alerts on those, so easy to track

  • For items that are easy to post I use eBay as it gets the most traffic. For larger items that need to be picked up I tend to use Gumtree and/or local buy/swap/sell Facebook pages. you don’t have to give your address to the world, only to the person who agrees to buy your item/s.
eBay and Gumtree are both pretty easy to use and have good phone apps available. It’s a step by step process so you’ll be fine once you get started. Good luck with it :-)

  • We use gumtree and it works well for us Ebay cost to much to list on

  • Gumtree is the best, no fees involved or even just your local garage sale sites! :)

  • eBay probably does sound about the easiest way to offload things from what I hear from others. If you’re going to go that way just prepare yourself ahead of time with a PayPal account, which is probably the more safer way to go about things. I like gumtree as well.

  • I’ve heard gum tree is pretty good, an u don’t get charged a fee to have your stuff on there site..

  • Also; I have heard people sell items through Gumtree?

  • I don’t really know… maybe try selling a small low cost thing through ebay, and if you’re comfortable with the process then you could list more.
