Hello!

I was already a mum to a 9,10 and 13 year old, working part time, things going ok. I already had an appointment at the dentist for a tooth that had a hole in it, but the day before it decided to crack and fall out while I was eating lunch, so at the dentist the next day, it had to be pulled out instead. The next day I was back there as the whole left side of my face was numb and he put me on antibiotics as the infection in my tooth had travelled into my cheek, as I filled the script I was told it could affect the pill and obviously, take precautions. Well it affected me alright!! Not only the pill side but my bloodpressure too. I already have low bloodpressure and it lowered it even further to the point I had to stop work, I couldn’t drive, I had to walk the kids to school as I at times would blackout along the way, Hubby an I decided it was best to be careful and keep our distance just to be sure, well, I was off the medication, waited the 2 wks to make sure the medication was out of my system, my bloodpressure was still low,but was monitered each week, I was bk on track.

I eventually went back to work and the first week back I felt like I’d had a hangover every morning till one morning one of the older ladies asked me if I could be pregnant..ha I said, don’t be silly!! Ha alright! It played on my mind all night that I dropped the kids off earlier than usual at school the next morning, I was straight to the chemist, home and within a couple of seconds it was positive!! I cried, I screamed, I shook!! I couldn’t believe it!! Another one? Well, then I had to tell hubby, I turned up at his work at smoko break and just cried, he knew, and when he walked back into the smoko room they all asked him when am I due?? I went to the doctor to confirm it etc, and she told me that even tho the pill may have kicked back in it was probably due to my bloodpressure staying low so the pill didn’t work as effectivelly as it would’ve normally. Oh great to hear that!

Well, the pregnancy went along pretty good, no great hitches. I was admitted to hospital for labour pains due to a picking up a case of vomiting, but towards the end my legs started with the same old pins and needles like the last 3, just this was worse, it was both legs and hips, I was asked how to relieve it, I said induce me, I was only about a week off my due date, they told me NO!

I suffered for 3 more weeks, I was 11 days overdue, had to have an emergency c-section as his head wasn’t down then we found out why..he was 10lb 5oz!! He was too big to have his head locked in. And they told me I was having an 8lb baby..think someone got that wrong!!

He’s 4 this year, and his big brothers and sister luv him dearly, so does his Mummy (oh and Dad), and to think I didn’t know if I could still feel the same joy and luv for another child after soo long, there’s no question, I luv him just as much as my other kids.

  • They certainly were out in their calculations. I know a Mum who couldn’t fully dilate to the normal measurement and had to have an emergency c-section. She was later told that if she had another one it would definitely have to be a
    c-section for the same reason.
