Hello!

I am a mum to 7 – 3 of which are to my husband. MY husband has 2 children from a previous relationship. He pays his child support every month – and without stating how much it is it is more than fair and I often wonder how the government do their maths… but that is a story for another day.

I am wondering why mothers deny access to dads that are genuine? That are doing the right thing in paying for their children and would just like a simple phone call, sms or even email on fathers day? or his Birthday?

Although my husband tried not to let it get to him, and he tried to put on a brave face and enjoy fathers day with “our”children… he was ever hopeful that just once his ex would allow his daughters to contact him. At 7pm I suggested that he phone them… to which when he did he was told that they were in bed. Umm a 12year old and 11 year old that are in bed at 7pm ? Not likely. It saddens me so much to think that these girls are being denied access to a daddy that loves them very much.

  • Any parent that denies another access to their children is doing damage to both the child and parent, unless the children will be put in danger. The system just doesn’t work for all

  • My brother’s ex wife is a bit similar to my nephew who comes down on school holidays to hang around my son and lets say the past will always be there. It is not about the kids ( they are in the middle ). It is between the two of them and if communication or relationship was not good when they married , then it will still be the same now and sadly the kids are stuck in the middle . I have already heard too much and it will never make sense to me .
