My son is just over 2 and has been going to daycare for about a year now, just a few days a week. He absolutely loves it, both for the interaction with other kids and the opportunity to learn and develop new skills in another setting. It was definitely important for me to find somewhere that I was 100% comfortable with him being there…I was very lucky to have found a place that, I’m sure, for him feels like a second home (with about 20 other kids!). I visited a number of places, and the place that he now goes to also offered us to visit a few times (with myself or my husband there with him), both before we had a place and in the lead up to him beginning his placement there. It is definitely important to be able to do this and I think that any good daycare centre would be more than willing to accommodate this.

  I agree; good comments and suggestions.

Maybe do some walk throughs of local daycares in your area, have a talk to them, and see how they run things. It might make you feel a lot more comfortable. And they’ll probably be more than willing to help you feel comfortable, as I’m sure many parents feel the same before they start their kids in day care.
