Hello!

I was lucky enough to meet the love of my life when I was 13, not long after we met I fell pregnant to our first child who I had at 14, teenage pregnancy wasn’t very common and I recieved a lot of negative comments, not long after our son was born we moved in together, we recieved constant dirty looks when we were out in public, while we were living together I did home schooling and finished my education, taking my son to kindergarten for the first time was scary as most of the parents thought we were too young and our opinions were dismissed, now 23 years and 6 more children later I am now what you would call a older mum, when I see young mums,I do not judge them, instead give them a smile and say hello, I wish everyone could do this to a young mum as it old mean the world to them, next time you see a young mum please don’t judge them because you haven’t idea of their situation.

  • its tough being a mum at any age but with added Judgement and socially acceptable opinions it must be so tough. We already bash ourselves enough without the general population bashing us also.

  • Well done to you for coping with a baby so young, and all the stigmas that go with it. Good for you for finishing your education too. Society is very judgemental, but there’s a lot of no hoper young mums out there who do this, so sad for those that really have a go

  • Good on you for doing it all as a young mum and now an older mum.. Seriously if there was less judging in this world, it would be a much more beautiful place!

  • It’s unfortunate that people always look for the differences (often thought of negatives) between them and various aged mums, instead of focusing on and bonding with what makes them the same and that is They Are Mums!

  • Totally agree with your story! People are so judgmental these days and it is sad. Congratulations for standing up to the negativity!

  • Some people will always judge. Finding your own comfort zone and not taking on other people’s judgements is important.

  • There’s a lot of judgemental people out there and it’s sad. I wish we could all live by the saying never judge a book by the cover.

    • Or don’t judge someone until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.
