Hello!

There is one YouTuber who is making some SERIOUS money from simply opening toys in front of a camera, and your kids have probably watched one of her videos.

We know almost nothing about the person, or people, who run the account which features a woman with brightly coloured nails unwrapping toys from the packaging and then assembling them, though we know that in 2014, this account made $4.9 million which is more than any other account on YouTube.

There are thousands of videos on the channel with a new one being placed up almost daily and the videos cover everything Disney, from PlayDoh to Peppa Pig to Frozen and MORE!

Here is an example of one of the highest viewed videos on the channel, which has over 340 million views:

Now it begs the question, what on earth is SO interesting about these video’s? My four year old watches them religiously but I cannot for the life of me work out what is so good about them, I mean, wouldn’t you want to open your own toys? I would certainly prefer to be the one opening the new toy, but the world seems to disagree with me as you can see by the amount of views this channel receives.

The most viewed video ever on YouTube is Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ with over 2,409,210,007 views, though FunToyzCollector recieves 380 million views a month, that is in ONE MONTH, so over the course of a year they receive over 4.56 billion views.

So I am putting the question out there, what do you think of these video’s? What do you think it is that is so compelling about the video’s? Do your kids watch these? SHARE with us in the comments below.

  • Ive never seen any videos like this before but yes I can see that children would love them. Its a bit like unboxing of makeup and skincare or books for adults.

  • Wow ! All of us Mums should get into this business. Every time I buy my younger kiddies toys, I open the packets for them. Would be an easy way to earn money. How ingenious !! Well I guess someone has to do it :)

  • My daughters absolutely love Cookie Swirl C. I think it’s kinda like how I love looking at clothes I’m not going to buy on ASOS :)

I’m happy because I know they’re watching something child suitable. Good on her for finding a way to make money out of something so fun!

  • I’ve not seen this before. Her voice might be soothing for a child, perhaps. It’s obviously all about the toys for the kids, but I couldn’t watch the whole video.

  • I have no idea why a child would want to watch toys being opened that aren’t theirs and they can’t play with. That said…..my 7 year old daughter watches a video on youtube where eggs are hidden in barbie houses and seeing what toys are in them so same thing I guess.

  • That’s crazy. Making all that money from something so mundane.
