Going viral this week a video capturing the moment a baby is born inside the amniotic sac during a caesarean section. Not everyone is impressed though.

*VIDEO may be distressing for some viewers

The rare moment, shared by Facebook page Birth Without Fear, shows doctors delivering the baby from the uterus while it is still inside an intact amniotic sac, also known as a caul.

The baby can be seen crying before doctors use their fingers to break the amniotic sac open.

The video has been viewed more than 1.2 million times and over 10,000 shares.

Not all viewers are in awe. Some fear the baby may be distressed, not to mention mum impatiently waiting to meet her bub.  I do believe it would have just been mere seconds though.

Comments include:

“Omg he’s crying in there! I know he’s safe and getting adequate oxygen but it makes you think, do they do this often?” one Facebook commentator asked.

“Real question, not being bratty: Why is this something that is being done on purpose over and over again? I think that it is positively amazing to see a natural, in caul birth. It’s like getting a window into a secret space. But the popularity and frequency of these videos kind of worries/freaks me out,” said another comment.

One woman commented: “This is honestly scary. The placenta is next to the sac so it’s obviously no longer attached to the uterine wall, which means it’s no longer working.”

“I’m starting to feel a bit disturbed by the amount of time they are taking before getting the baby to its mother. The baby can feel the difference in temperature being outside the womb, can see the bright lights and can hear etc. And the mom is having surgery! Probably wondering about her baby!”

“All I’m thinking just get on with it.its stressful enough for the mum.what are ppl thinking these days.its very simple once the mum has the incision why would one feel the need to stand there and add tension to the baby to try to watch to push itself out.”

” I love that it’s crying like “don’t just stand there get me out jerks.”

Earlier this month we shared a stunning image of a baby born encaul with her hand on her head.
