Hello!

A gentle nudge awake from a sniffly child in the wee hours of the morning is a sure sign that everything you thought was going to happen today, isn’t going to happen today!

Never do our eyes ping open quicker than when our kids wake us with the delightful* news that they’re sick. (*Not actually delightful). In that split second, before we enter the world of the fully awake, our mum-brain kicks into gear quicker than we can say ‘Get the Demazin’.

We can guarantee that there are 7 things that race through every mum’s head in super quick succession, as we try and steel ourselves for the chaos to come.

1. Is this real sick, or ‘I don’t want to go to school/daycare/kindy sick’?

The first thing that usually goes through our head is whether or not our child is actually sick. Of course, we believe them … buuuut, sometimes there’s a hint of doubt. So, there’s usually a bit of detective work involved just to make sure there isn’t a maths test on the timetable!

So we go through the usual questions:

Do you have a sore throat?
Yep, *winces while swallowing*

Do you have a runny nose?
Yep, *sniffs loudly*

Cough?
Uh-huh *cough, cough*

So the thermometer comes out, the tissues are located and it appears that this is, indeed, real sick.

2. Who’s staying home from work?

Ah, the which parent is taking a day off roulette!

Who took the last day off?

Who absolutely has to be in the office today?

Who wants to endless cuddles??

3. I still have to pay for daycare. Sigh.

If you’ve got a little one in daycare, you’ll know this thought all too well! There’s nothing that can be done about it, but feel free to complain to anyone and everyone who will listen!

4. Is it considered a Bluey binge when you let your kid watch a whole season in one day?

I mean, each episode only goes for about 10 minutes so …

5. Pretty sure we ran out of tissues a week ago.

Why is it when you need tissues, you never have any tissues?! Loo roll will do until you can get to the shops!

6. We’re probably all going to get sick.

When one falls, it’s pretty much a certainty that the rest will follow, because sharing is caring right?

7. When I get sick, nobody will care.

And that’s a certainty. And by the time you get sick, the kids will probably be feeling right as rain again. The joys!

One final thought …

Of course, once all of these thoughts have bounced through our heads, we know we need to do whatever we can to help the kids feel better. And that’s where Demazin can come to the rescue. Because as much as the kids being sick is an inconvenience, all we want is for our family to get better as quickly as possible and restore order to our busy homes! Demazin can help kick the chaos and bring back the calm.

For the little ones, Demazin Kids 6+ Cold Relief Colour Free Syrup is specifically formulated to provide temporary relief from pesky runny noses, annoying blocked nose and sinuses, sneezing and frustrating watery, itchy eyes. It works in two ways – as a decongestant to unblock stuffy or runny noses, and as an antihistamine to relieve itchy and watery eyes and noses.

It can be used by children over the age of six through to adults to provide relief from cold symptoms and is available in peach and vanilla flavour, and in colour free or blue.

This sanity-saver in a box provides around the clock relief from eight cold and flu symptoms including reducing fever, body aches, sinus pain, dry cough, blocked nose, runny nose, sore throat and headache. Phew!

And then there’s the addition of 10 immune defence soft gel capsules, with seven active ingredients, including herbs used in Western herbal medicine to help enhance healthy immune function and reduce the severity of cold and flu symptoms. So you’re back on your feet (or run off your feet!) in no time!

So when that little voice wakes you with a sniffle, just remember that Demazin can come to the rescue and help get the entire family feeling better.

  • Oh My God! You wouldn’t believe it! As I was reading this I heard the dreaded “Mum” Call out from his bedroom. Oh well!

  • Having to still pay for daycare is the worst!! Most of the time that’s where they get it from. Once one of the kids gets something, we all get it!

  • Haha these are so true! Daycare is like an endless germ pit! It annoys me when parents send their kids there when they’re sick!

    • Yes! This is the worst. We do the right thing, but my son gets sick because others send their kids sick

  • I do not understand why society is geared towards sidelining and shaming stay at home mums.

  • Haha some of these I definitely have thought about when my child has been sick.

  • Mostly true apart from the child care. That’s often the source, so don’t send them if you don’t have to. Try Brauer products for cold & flu…much more natural

  • These sound familiar to what I used to think when my boys were little. I always felt guilty afterwards for thinking they were just trying to skip school.

  • Yep you’ve hit the nail on the head. All those thoughts happen. I’ve been using demazin on my older kids and us adults this winter and has helped.
