Hello!

Actor Alexander Ludwig and his wife Lauren have revealed their rainbow baby has arrived four weeks early.

In February the couple shared that they were expecting their much-longed for first baby after suffering three miscarriages.

The pair took to social media to share the news that their daughter, Leni James Ludwig has arrived a month earlier than her due date.

“Leni James Ludwig decided to come on her own schedule 4 weeks early. Born 4/27/23 at 7:24am,” the couple captioned their adorable family snap.

“@alexanderludwig was in another state filming and made it back just in time. A labour story for the books.”

It comes after years of heartbreak for the sweet couple, who have been candid about their long journey to parenthood.

“It’s been a long road, and we wanted to wait until things were looking promising this time around,” Alexander wrote when he announced their pregnancy.

“Thank you guys for all of the support. We couldn’t be more grateful. Baby Ludwig coming May 2023.”

Lauren added: “As a lot of you know it’s been a long road for @alexanderludwig and myself. We suffered 3 losses before this one but each one of those losses taught us about ourselves and each other. To everyone out there who has suffered miscarriages before, there is light on the other side of your journey. You are not alone.”

The couple had been open about their pregnancy struggles, sharing their journey so others know they’re not alone.

The Hunger Games and Vikings actor joined his wife in opening up about their pregnancy losses in May last year, in a heartfelt social media post.

“This woman’s strength astounds me every time,” Alexander, 30, wrote alongside an image of Lauren in a hospital bed. “I love you and your resilience through this just is one more of the countless reasons I love you. All the bumps life throws our way, we got this. And for anyone else, you’re not alone. It’s a hell of a lot more normal than I thought.”

Lauren explained that the pair had ‘gone back and forth’ about whether to share what they had been going through. But they ultimately decided that ‘we all need to start talking about the truth more’.

“Last week @alexanderludwig and I had our 3rd miscarriage,” Lauren wrote. “I decided I wanted to share because I don’t think it’s a shameful thing to talk about. I want to help others realise how common miscarriages are and how they aren’t something to be embarrassed about.

“Going through this has made me realise, I definitely am not alone. It’s so common and yet, I feel it’s not talked about nearly enough. If more of us talked about these things, maybe we would feel less alone and at fault. Information is power and I want to start sharing more of it.

“This will forever be a part of our story. My hope by sharing this, if for no other reason, is for that one person reading this to know they are not alone.”

Alexander and Lauren married in 2021, just a month after their engagement. They eloped to the top of a Utah mountain with their dog Yam acting as witness.

  • Thank you for sharing your story. When I had my first of many miscarriages I wasn’t allowed to talk about it to my doctor. He just told me I’d done something wrong. I never said this to my late husband because I didn’t want to upset him. I blamed myself for so long but my husband was my rock.

    • How awful and sad you had to carry this pain by yourself !
