What do you get when you combine a zip line and a rollercoaster? Hours of fun and some very tired kids!

The Crazy Rider Xpress at TreeTops in Western Sydney has opened, much to the delight of daredevils young and not so young. Reaching speeds of up to 50km/h and a 2.3 G-force, the Crazy Rider Xpress is 500m of pure adrenaline for all of the 55 seconds it will take you to reach the end. Given that astronauts experience 3 G-force when launching from the earth, this experience is probably best described as out of this world!

The Faster The Better

The Crazy Rider Xpress is the third zip line to be built at a TreeTops park, with Ecoline beginning plans to build the world’s fastest rollercoaster zip line back in 2017. Not for the faint of heart, the ride features “two adrenaline-pumping 360-degree loops, a stomach churning drop and many twists and turns.”

As reported by The Fairfield Champion, the Xpress uses a new harness and pulley system to increase the speed of the ride.

General manager of TreeTops, Sandrine Gaymard, said, “Zip lines are everyone’s favourites- and the faster it is, the better. As a result we developed the Crazy Rider – a zip line that didn’t just go straight, but around trees, up and down, and even with 360-degree loops to really ramp up the fun factor.” Sounds like a perfect summer holiday day out if you ask us!

The Beauty Of The Australian Bush

If your nerves don’t get the better of you, the ride offers a unique opportunity to take in the beauty of the Australian bush from high above the ground. “The ride not only provides plenty of thrills as you weave your way through the trees but it also provides a new perspective for people to observe the beauty of the Australian bushland,” Sandrine said.

Think you might be up for the challenge? There are TreeTops parks throughout NSW, but to experience the Crazy Rider Xpress you need to head to the Western Sydney Park in Abbotsbury. The ride is suitable for children and adults between 25kg-120kg and costs $25 for Youth up to 17, and $35 for adults 18+. It sounds like a super fun way to get your heart rate up and impress the kids – that’s if you don’t chicken out at the last minute!

  • Ive never been on one but I would want one that was slow so i could take in all the sights

  • As long as it’s safe, unlike that one where a person got killed recently. I dislike heights though..

  • Since there is no “Stop and let me off now” option then no I think I won’t even try this one. I like zip lines but the speed of this one with twists and turns I couldn’t manage it.

  • No!! It wouldn’t be safe for me because of a serious medical problem.

  • If I were a tad younger I’d do it for the thrill of it. Used to love riding the roller coaster in my early days, as well as the flying fox we rigged up for the Scouts.
