This is a little bit fiddly but it is actually straightforward once you “get” it. It’s hard to explain in steps so I suggest you look up a video tutorial on youtube to see best.

Material

  • 1 elastic
  • 1 bobby pin, stretched out

Method

  1. Section of a portion of hair around the top part of the crown from the top of the left eyebrow to the right ear. Tie it up out of the way.
  2. Braid the remaining section of hair as normal.
  3. Take the bobby pin and insert it through the top section of each part of the three stranded braid.
  4. Take a section of loose hair, pinch it to form a small loop, then pass it through the eye of the bobby pin. Gently pull it through the braid while keeping your finger in the loop to maintain the "bow" structure.
  5. With the tail end of each bow, pass it behind the braid. Continue with more sections of hair and more parts of the three stranded braid.
  6. Finish up with the remainder of the hair and secure with an elastic.

  • Looks a bit fiddley and could get a bit messy towards the end of the day. Pretty simple to do tho

  • Just looking at the picture, I immediately think of undoing it all :/ I’m imagining lots of tangles and knots. It does look cool tho

  • This looks so cute, but unfortunately my daughter’s hair is too curly.

  • This looks adorable! But I doubt my daughter would sit still for me to try it on her!

  • Cute ! I wonder if it sits well for a day.

    • If your child has very clean hair then it can fall out a bit if you haven’t braided it very tightly. If your child has very thin hair that has fly aways, I would spritz in a bit of hairspray at the end to hold it in place but personally, I think it looks lovely and relaxed with few fly aways.

  • This is so gorgeous!!! I would never be able to pull this off

    • If you can braid, you can do this hairdo! Really, it looks a lot harder that it really is. YouTube it and watch someone doing it step by step and you’ll see what I mean.
