Hello!

I was getting annoyed and disposing the nursing pads and I have a heap of spare material lying around at home so.i thought I would give it a go and make my own. I have found them to be super comfortable and dont leak which is perfect better so I'm also having on money and space on my bin!

Material

  • Leftover scrap material (100% cotton) 1/2 meter
  • Polar fleece 1/2 meter
  • Flanel 1/2 meter
  • Water proof mattress protector Single bed size
  • Nursing pad To measure size or use a mug!

Method

  1. Cut a circle shape of each of the materials. Its useful to use a disposable nursing pad to measure the size.
  2. Lay the cotton, plastic, fleece and flanel and secure with some pins. At this stage I also cleaned up the edges to make them all neat and even.
  3. Choose your favorite stitch and stitch around the edge of the nursing pad.

Notes

This is also perfect as a little gift

  • I love this! I’m really not a fan of the disposable pads, the adhesive isn’t even that great so there is no advantage to them.
I’ve currently had to give up my sewing room to convert into little guys nursery, but hoping when we move shortly I can set it up again, I would love to make some.

  • How do these hold up when finished with a sewing machine? I’ve seen other people do th with an over locker but never tried because I only have a regular machine! Would love to be able to make my own.

  • Awesome! Water proofed so no leakage. The ones from the supermarket are single use, always leak and aren’t cheap to buy.
