Ever wondered what fans say to stars on the street?

In an interview with Vanity Fair, a host of celebrities were asked the question “What do fans say when they recognise you on the street?”

The results are absolutely hilarious…

Jennifer Garner

“Oh my God, you’re so much prettier in person”

Keira Knightley

“Aren’t you Anne Hathaway?”

Jake Gyllenhaal

“We don’t wanna talk to you, we just wanna take a picture with you”

See how other celebs, including Channing Tatum, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Connolly and Al Pacino, responded in the video below:

Have you ever met a celebrity? What did you say to them?

  • people can be insensitive! Just because you are famous doesnt mean you dont have feelings!

  • My husband met Wilbur Wild (well – he’s one of Australia’s celebs at least!) at the cricket and wouldn’t leave him alone! He even managed to get his phone number so they could play golf – and it’s actually his phone number too!

  • yeah i mean it’s not like you prepare what you would say if you ran into a celebrity (when you are past the age of 10 or so ) lol

  • Mistaking a celebrity for another – how awkward!! At least Keira could say ‘no sorry I’m not’ without lying!

  • It’s an amazing feeling to meet a celebrity, the things you want to say just never come out. I’m glad they see the funny side of it!

  • I’ve seen celebrities before but I’m not the sort of person to just go up to them because they’re famous. I saw Charlton Heston walking down the street in Boston about nine years ago. No one was annoying him, he looked relaxed, probably relieved to be left alone.

  • it is awkward as sometimes you feel you know them especially if you watch their show and yet they know nothing about you at all!

  • How amusing for them. I wouldn’t call those comments hilarious, they’re just comments.

  • sat next to Rodney Rude on a plane trip to Melbourne. He said “I promise not to be RUDE!”
I just laughed. He was lovely and polite. We chatted all the way to Melbourne. Then he asked if he could get a Taxi for me.

  • I said “hello, how are you?” when I met the prime minister…And had quite a chat when I met Paul McDermott… Had to kick my husband when we met Nikki Webster and he greeted her by saying he hated Dancing With the Stars – it was of course the season she was on it….
