Channing Tatum, who played the strong, sensitive type (with an awesome body and some killer dance moves) in Magic Mike, is a big softie with his baby daughter, Everly, born on May 31.“It’s funny, he’s so sensitive,” his actress wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, told Ellen DeGeneres on her Oct. 2 talk show. “He’s this really strong big guy in life but you give him this little baby and he’s like, ‘Oh my God … Is she going to drop? Am I doing everything OK?’ “But he has some invaluable skills. Apart from being “the most amazing diaper changer,” he can put Everly to sleep when all else fails.
“As new mamas know, the baby is crying and you’re like, ‘What do I do to make her stop crying?’” said the actress and former backing dancer, who met her husband in 2006 when they co-starred in Step Up. “All of a sudden he starts beatboxing and she starts cooing. I’m like, ‘What?! I have been rocking her. I have been swaying her. I’ve been doing squats,’ and he gets here and she would just fall asleep in his arms.”“I would like to see video of that,” said DeGeneres.

  • Some people just seem to have the right touch for getting babies to go to sleep. Babies pick up on a person’s energy, and if you’re calm, then they’re more likely to settle.
