Hello!

Move over Kmart, there’s a new luxe-for-less retailer in town! Coles is casually dropping a range of homewares with teeny price tags, including a boucle armchair and matching ottoman.

Available for a limited time from today at 585 stores across Australia, the new Coles Best Buys range includes the boucle armchair for $49.99, a boucle ottoman for $39.99 and boucle cushions priced at $9.99.

There’s also a selection of decor, including a table lamp for $29.99, round mirror for $9.99 and a bar cart priced at $59.99.

It comes as ALDI reveals it’s also releasing a budget boucle range, including a swivel chair and storage ottoman.

If you’re in love with the boucle trend, we’ve found the most beautiful boucle chairs in Australia over on our sister site, Making HOME.

The exclusive range is available in selected stores and online now. Take a look below at a list of the full range and participating stores.

  • I personally wouldn’t think to go to Coles for furniture.

  • Do wish Coles would stop this and let Kmart and Target do the other goods other than groceries.

  • They have some amazing Best Buys I’ve been fortunate to buy.

  • Woolworths already do this on their online store (Marketbuys) so i’m sure coles will be following, i think its great to have more competition in all markets as the way prices are atm we can use more affordable items

  • An interesting move from Coles. Don’t know if it will work for them.

  • I’d prefer to make sure it’s decent quality before purchasing one.

  • Looks like coles is trying to be similar to Aldi and Costco

    • It appears many places are diversifying.

  • Out local store was, like many, revamped years ago and the variety section (clothing etc) removed. I wonder where they are going to fit all these products.

    • Yes we had a clothes section. It lokks like they have moved away from that now.

  • I wonder if Coles is starting to sell these items because they’re grocery sales have dropped. Keep it as a grocery store and let Kmart sell the furniture or is Kmart going to start selling groceries as well?

  • I’m really not loving this range. Think I’ll still too their groceries….

  • Okay, so: the chair looks awful, uncomfortable and ugly design. We have all this stuff already via Kmart and there’s not much difference visually. Also, sorry to be a woke Karen, but is this more sweatshop/China produced unsustainable stuff? This blurs the lines between Kmart and Coles and isn’t necessary , since they are both part of the same company group.
Do Coles really need to sell this stuff too? Smacks of greedy market expanding. Will be avoiding!

  • The bar cart might be worth a look.

  • Does the author of this article know that Coles owns Kmart?

  • Kmart, Aldi and now Coles. Why do they need to compete about a similar product ?

  • That chair looks uncomfortable! Needs padding on the arms!

  • I’m not sure why they thought they need to do this. Kmart has furniture covered.

  • I saw these the other day. Very nice!

  • This looks good and a great price range.

  • It’s really nice I knew woollies had furniture but not coles

  • I didn’t even know coles had furniture! I am definitely out of the loop. I really like the chair!
