Congrats to Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and hubby Chris Ivery!

In surprise news Ellen Pompeo and hubby Chris Ivery announced the arrival of daughter Sienna May Ivery via WhoSay on Thursday afternoon.

The announcement has come as a shock as no one knew they were expecting. The 44 year old Grey’s Anatomy star shared a picture across Instagram and Twitter with the words “Sienna May Ivery welcome to the world. We love you more than words can say“.

Ellen also shared via twitter that baby Sienna had arrived via a surrogate:

The couple already have 5 year old Stella and married back in 2007 after many years of dating.

Ellen Pompeo was on the Ellen DeGeneres show back in April talking about her firstborn with no hints of another one on the way:

Good on them and best wishes to them and their little family. A child is always a joy no matter how they came into the world and good on the surrogate mother for being so selfless in carrying someone else’s baby.

  The baby was born by a surrogate, so she didn’t give birth herself.
