Carrie Bickmore has shared some very exciting news.

The host of Channel 10’s The Project announced on live TV last night that she is expecting her second child.

“Speaking of babies,” Bickmore said. “I have some news for you tonight, I’m having a baby.”

“My boyfriend Chris and I are expecting a baby next year.”

Bickmore, 33, who has been dating the former series producer since 2012, revealed that she is already suffering from morning sickness, saying she is both “petrified” and “excited”.

The newsreader also shared that Ollie, her son with husband Greg Lange who passed away from a long struggle with cancer in 2010, was extremely excited by the news.

“I don’t think he ever thought he was going to get a brother and sister so he’s stoked.”

Soon after the news broke, celebrities including Megan Gale and Rove McManus flooded Bickmore’s Twitter page with congratulatory messages.

I have been hiding under a rock obviously, noticed that she is pregnant on the project the other night, I wish her and her family all the best, she has endured sadness and loss and deserves the best possible outcome, wishing her all the best.
