A dad-to-be has unleashed a brutal online post, saying pregnant women have no excuses for ‘being fat’.

The man, who goes by ‘Neo’ on social media, posted a photo on X (formerly Twitter), saying this is what his wife looks like at eight months pregnant.

“This is how you should look when you are pregnant,” he wrote, “There are zero excuses to be fat just because you are pregnant. This is my wife in her eighth month.

Zero complications
Zero pain
Zero mood swings

Just admit you are lazy bitch.”

The controversial post attracted both supportive comments, and those hitting back at the statement.

“You can’t tell a woman how she should be during one of the toughest periods a human let alone a woman has to go through,” one person commented. “Women react different to pregnancy, their bodies react different to the hormonal changes.”

To which Neo responded:

“Women have been told that they can act how they can and eat what they want and it’s ok. If society feeds you something your entire life, you will start to believe it. Most women, if taken care of their body and health will be very happy during pregnancy.”

Another person commented: “All fine and dandy, but the bigger stresses come after pregnancy, with the sleep adjustments, etc. Just take it easy a bit. Sleep is disturbed for 6 years after childbirth. It’s stressful. The reward are the children and they shall outlast us.”

And another said, “She looks great! However pregnancy differs for every woman. There’s some women who find it super easy, but some women who find it incredibly difficult.”

Neo says his wife is due to give birth in three weeks.

  • What an idiot to post this. Every woman is different and the younger they are the taunter the muscles. His wife looks to be in her 20’s or early 30’s. That’s not the age of the average mother these days, more’s the pity. I do hope they manage to continue getting along – someone who pontificates like this idiot would be very hard to love with, I think.

  • This is disgusting- I am appalled after reading this. I would be running and never looking back. Is this guy serious?

  • I looked like that till I was 7.5 mths then I ballooned up and literally went from “are you sure your pregnant? To wow you must be sue any day now” over night! That’s also when all the complications arose! I got bigger and heavier with every baby till my 3rd at 4.5kg! I lost weight with my 4th, who was my smallest baby at 3.5kgs, and only GD baby.

This man clearly has zero clue of how the human body works. whats next? If his baby has hair then all babies need hair? Or if his baby is bald then all babies must be bald!? Or better yet, if he doesn’t have a baby with needs, then no babies are born with needs but come from lazy parenting?

I hope his wife continues to have a happy, healthy pregnancy and delivers a healthy baby. And that he gets an EPIC life lesson!

    • Absolutely, pregnancy experiences vary widely. Blanket statements about how pregnancies “should” look or progress oversimplify the complexity of the human body and individual circumstances. I had pre-eclampsia towards the end of my twin pregnancy (which was a horrific pregnancy all round) and was COMPLETELY swollen. I hope she doesn’t suffer from PND or need any painkillers during the birth….imagine his judgement!!

  • What a gross guy, rocks for brains.
At my baby’s check up yesterday I saw the most glamorous heavily pregnant woman, who was wearing a heel. I just thought good on her and her fab genes. We’re all different and wear our pregnancies differently, and trying to shame someone in one of their most vulnerable periods is despicable. Love yourselves, ladies <3

  • A pity that the shape of his pregnant wife’s body is of such high importance to this guy.

    • It is indeed a pity to focus on body shape and appearance. There are so many other important considerations when pregnant and women are so much more than their appearance.

      • True ! And this time around his wife is meeting his expectations, but what if she doesn’t a next time around ?

      • Indeed! Many red flags and quite alarming.

  • Best to not engage and give any air time or respond directly to such a ridiculous comment from the person posting the silly comment. No woman needs to justify how they look to the poster of such a pointless comment.
Women do not have to look a particular way and be a set size to please anyone and women are all different and experience pregnancy their own way. The size of a person is not necessarily a sign of good health, there are so many other factors that determine good health. It is about time women stopped being judged on their size and appearance. It is also about time women stopped caring about how others judge their appearance.

    • I agree, not worthed a response at all

  • He’s very ignorant. Many (most?) women are larger than this in pregnancy for reasons which have nothing to do with what they eat.
