David Beckham has been attacked after he posted a photo of himself kissing daughter, Harper, 7, on the lips.

The 43-year-old’s picture was met with a flurry of hateful comments from trolls on Instagram claiming it was ‘wrong’ for a father to kiss his daughter in this way.

One follower posted: ‘I don’t care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it’s completely wrong smd’.

Another wrote: ‘she’s your daughter. .why are you kissing on her lips..?..that’s ur wife kiss…’

‘I feel like a kiss on the cheek is better than that on the lips. The lips is just weird’.

He has been slammed in the past over a similar photo.

Do you think parents should kiss their children on the lips?

  • Seriously? People need to grow up! This is a simple act of love between a daddy and daughter.

  • Let’s face it we teach our babies to kiss on the lips. I know one small toddler lets you kiss the top loop of his dummy (when it is in his mouth) at bed time. In the photo it is a quick peck, not a sensuous kiss,

  • Really? Get over it. How lovely that he and Harper have such a special relationship. So, would it be okay for Victoria to kiss Harper on the lips? Or are lips off limits altogether. Nobody’s business really.

  • Seriously these morons need to get a life. A gentle peck for his daughter was one of love and affection and heartfelt.

  • If he has been slammed in the past for a similar photo, then it appears that he is hamming it up to show his followers that he doesn’t care about what the trolls think.

  • People like to stir the pot just because you don’t do something doesn’t mean doing it is wrong.

  • I kiss my son on the lips and people who think theres something wrong with that need to mind their own business in my opinion. There is nothing sexual or wrong with it, its just a show of affection. But celebs can never please everyone anyway!

  • Do these trolls ever let up?

  • I don’t do it, I only kiss my husband on the lips, I wouldn’t do it with my kids

  • It’s really not abnormal. People need to stop being so tough on celebs

  • I’m worried about the warped minds that think this is sexual or inappropriate in some way. In my family we always kissed on the lips. It wasn’t weird, it was just us. Parents, grandparents, I kissed them all on the lips. I kiss my daughter on the lips. It isn’t weird, it is our way of showing affection. If I kissed on the cheek it would be like kissing someone who is only an acquaintance, which is what I do. To each their own, but I don’t see anything wrong with it at all. Clearly he loves his daughter, what is wrong with that?

  • People should stop having dirty minds and stop taking away children’s innocence
My daughter is 10 and she kisses my husband on the lips – a peck, not the type of romantic kiss parents share.
    It’s pure and it’s innocent

  • I’ve never liked the thought of kissing anyone but my husband on the lips. I do know of some people who always kiss their kids on the lips and these kids are now adults. Maybe they are just doing this for the photo and it was her idea?

  • No. Basic hygiene. And it does rapidly become ‘inappropriate’ (at least for my background/culture), so wouldn’t really encourage it in even the youngest of kids. Plenty of other ways to show affection etc.

  • my almost three year old won’t rest until he has had his real kiss and you also have to say mwah or he will chase you down until you do. Kids are innocent, leave them that way if my kids want to kiss me on the lips they can, there is nothing sexual about it
