David Campbell is 'doubly in love'

David Campbell and his wife Lisa are experiencing double the excitement, after welcoming twins into the world over the weekend.

The host of Channel 9’s Mornings took to Instagram to make the very special announcement, posting:

“Hey guys. Here is William David Campbell and Elizabeth Ann Campbell. We call them Billy and Betty. Mum is wonderful. Leo is excited and I am doubly in love.”

David, the son of legendary singer Jimmy Barnes, also revealed that his new children were born on his wife’s birthday, and that their son Leo was “so excited to finally be a big brother.”

David’s Mornings co-host Sonia Kruger, who is expecting her first child later this year, congratulated the family-of-five this morning by Tweeting:

We know you will join us in congratulating the David, Lisa and Leo at this very special time. And we couldn’t help but share their gorgeous baby announcement, which the couple posted earlier this year to share their excitement over the impending births.

Twins are always going to be very in touch with each other and know each other telepathically. I would love to have twins. I think they are very special. Congratulations guys i’m very jealous but happy for you at the same time.

This is so exciting. I’ve just returned from overseas and read this. A fantastic time to come for them all. How adorable. And what a busy household this will be. I imagine they need to accept all help offered!

I don’t have twins but I have 4 beautiful grown up children. I have known a few sets of twins in my time and the best thing you can do for them apart from loving them to bits is treat them as individuals even when they are identical . The twin girls I knew at high school were identical but after getting to know them really well they were completely different. They had the same hair colour ,build etc but I could tell them one from the other easily!

Congratulations to them. As a mum of twins I can just say to enjoy the journey, it will be tough and exhausting and completely different than raising a single child but it is truly amazing and a blessing to have twins. Make sure you just stop and enjoy them
