Pippa Middleton, younger sister of Duchess Kate of Cambridge, has given birth to her first child, a boy.

A spokeswoman for Ms Middleton and her husband James Matthews said the couple’s baby was a boy born on Monday.

A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said they were “thrilled” for Pippa and her husband.

According to reports he was born 8 pounds 9 ounces on Monday afternoon.

Congratulations to them all. Exciting times x
