Remember Maria Kang aka ‘fit mom’? Well she is back. This photo might jog your memory….

Maria has just launched her 2015 calendar featuring herself along with other mums who are following her ‘no excuses’ program.

She was accused of ‘fat-shaming’ last year when she posted the above photo on Twitter.

Here are the mums that are featured:

She very recently took to Instagram with a swipe at Victoria’s Secret saying

Has anyone seen Victoria’s Secret most recent “Perfect Body Campaign”? I believe all our bodies are perfectly imperfect but can their marketing team come up with a little variety in body types (please?) It’s the No Excuse Mom campaign versus the Perfect Body campaign! #lol #noexcusemom #victoriasecret #noexcusemoms #loveyourself

What do you think? Has she moved forward from her so called ‘fat-shaming’ days? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

  • I’m always a fan when the bodies include DIVERSE body shapes (sure none of them are MY body shape, but at least there’s a few that are a bit curvy)

  • I really don’t care too much for her opinion.

  • I dont think it was ever Fat shaming i think it was lazy shaming and excuses shaming. but obviously since being accused of fat shaming she is being ultra aware of things and very careful about it all.

  • she does look good but i don’t think that we should place any unrealistic pressure on ourselves. she obviously has the time to work out and maybe someone watches her kids. we don’t know her daily routine. i run around after my children, keep a very clean and tidy house, cook and try to get some kind of workout in every day. i don’t look like her though. i also can see how much that photo of her is photoshopped. lets see mums like me who still have flabby tummys from having a baby and a bit of “cushion”. let’s see the effects that breastfeeding has on our breasts after 3 children. let’s see a full belly of stretch marks! i think that it is great that she looks this good and healthy but i don’t think that i should feel bad because i don’t look like her. i love myself and i think that i want to teach my daughters that beauty comes from inside and you should be healthy but IT IS OK TO LOOK DIFFERENT BECAUSE WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT!!!!

  • She has clearly learned a few things about marketing.

  • Good on her, and all the other women! Whatever rocks their boats. No excuses? I think i’ll have that chocolate afterall. 🙂

  • I think she is a very fit minded and bodied Mum, who has a great sense of self. She does lack in the tact department though.

  • It’s unhealthy to be overweight (as well as underweight) she is just making a point that excuses are not real reasons.

  • I guess she’s trying to inspire others, but it doesn’t really work if you have to use photoshop to do so.

  • After my 2nd is born, I’m going to take more time dedicated to me, not to get crazy fit like her – that will never happen – but for my mental health & well being and just so I feel more like a human not just a milk machine. Happy mum happy family.

  • I think she is moving forward slowly, but they are very small baby steps. i personally am still very offended by her ‘what is your excuse?’ tag line, as i have medical conditions that hinder (but do not stop) me from lowering my weight. i think she needs to think of others properly….

  • I think she’s made a half-hearted attempt to adapt after all the criticism, but I don’t think she’s changed her approach. Why make a calendar focusing on how women’s bodies look anyway? Great to encourage healthy lifestyles, but getting fit should be about health, not appearance. So tired of all this rubbish.

  • I think she has and good on her

  • I like the idea of the No Excuses program

  • I don’t know if she was ‘fat-shaming’ so much as reminding people that you don’t have to be a multi-millionaire celebrity to achieve great things. It’s not like she had written ‘get up off the couch you big fat loser and be more like me’. If that is what people are reading into it I think it reflects their own insecurity rather than Maria’s attitude.

  • well she is entitled to her opinion and is also very lucky that her belly tightened up again unlike mine

    • Lol, yep, some of us aren’t so lucky no matter how much weight we lose.

  • I agree she’s photoshopped her image

  • Thank you for bringing this topic back into discussion; I say good on her. But not everyone has the motivation and commitment to schedule in time to get crazy fit like she is. I’m happy when I fit in my 10000 steps a day and most of those r chasing my kids and incidental exercise….

  • I just don’t think this is fair to mums who are trying hard, but aren’t naturally petite.
