There’s nothing worse than having to dig around in the formula tin for a rogue scoop – but this nifty tip puts an end to the scoop search once and for all.

In literally seconds, a few quick cuts from a sharp knife transforms the baby formula tin’s foil freshness cover into both a scoop holder and a formula leveller. Genius. Or is it? Take a look:

While the TikTok tip has been watched more than 10 million times, there are some people who aren’t sold on the concept. Some are concerned that small pieces of foil will end up in the formula, while others think they’ll cut their hand trying to scoop formula.

So, what do you think? Is this idea clever or ridiculous? Or does your formula tin have something already built in to level the scoop? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Omg what a great hack!! I always hated brushing the formula off the scoop!

  • Be interesting to know if anyone has tried this and if they have cut themselves on the foil?

  • Good idea! But that foil is going to be sharp!

  • The companies should do this and then it wouldn’t be an issue for anyone. I used to just leave the scoop in another container so it was always on hand.

  • Or you keep the scoop in a container on the bench so it’s always nearby.

  • I’d be too worried the sharp foil would cut me when I put my hand in. The scoop always sits on topic the formula anyway, not really an issue for me.

  • How is this smart?! The only time you ever need to find the scoop is the first time and then it’s always at the top of the milk powder, you never need to find it again. If it was a hack for that very first time then it would’ve been something useful.

  • I kinda like this idea. I hate how sticky the powder gets when it gets all over you whilst trying to fish for the spoon
