Is it wrong to be relieved when we see these kinds of posts pop up from the experts? We are glad that this kind of thing happens to the best of us.

Dr Justin Coulson, parenting expert and dad of six girls shared this on his Facebook page over the weekend and people were breathing a sigh of relief at something so relatable from a dad like himself.

Dr Justin wrote: “Now and then people criticise me for not knowing how it is to have kids who are challenging.

“This picture confirms that I am still very much in the middle of all the best and worst bits of parenting.

“You know how they say you should always be worried if things are quiet and you have children? Miss 4 found the blue printer ink – and the white dog”

Dr Justin continued in comments – “It was inside and outside. It appears there was a chase of some kind – and the winner went off in that direction. Well there were no winners actually”

Comments on his post include:

” I am actually a little bit glad and grateful that this happens to a parenting specialist also… is that wrong? ”

“It’s funny but only because I don’t have to clean it up! Feeling for you!”

“Sooo…. what we want to know is, what is Dr Coulson’s advice on how to handle this situation – and is that how you actually handled it?! lol”

Dr Justin replied – “Haha! I did pretty well with this one. Distraction. Bath. And someone else to deal with the dog”

How would you react in this situation?

  • Now that is one creative little lady.

  • Lol, I often first walk away for a moment in situations like this. Drink a wine, have a laugh and gather courage, take a picture and then I go to work: Bath time for both !

  • So funny. My only concern is I hope she didn’t accidentally put any ink in the dog’s eye/s at all.
I’ve heard of kids giving dogs a mud bath.

I also know of cousins who decided to put mud in the hair of one child who had blonde hair. The others all had dark hair and decided he should have dark hair too. I suspect the use of the photo for one than one party. Their Grandma couldn’t stop laughing when she told us.

  • I’d throw my ands up in despair and then get over it.

  • Love this article as it no only shows the companionship between a dog and a child it also shows it’s ok to get your hands dirty like the old days.

  • Thankfully and luckily my child didn’t do anything like this. But I always worried when things were quiet….

  • LOL I don’t think either of mine have ever done anything quite that bad – Sudocreme maybe but not that!

  • Bath time for both. The dog didn’t mind or he’d have got away. Cute photo to bring out at her 21st

  • I’m sure he sits back, and takes a look at this picture and laughs. The joys of parenting.

  • These pictures make me laugh. My children do this sort of thing to our dog and each other!

  • Bless her. These are the moments we need to lighten up parenting!

  • Oh dear and ink too haha

  • I’d laugh. Then I’d call the vet to find out the safest way to remove the ink whilst laughing some more. Then I’d try (and fail) not to laugh whilst telling said child off. This will make a great memory for grandkids and 21st birthday.

  • Aw lol, these things happen to all of us.
Yep, definitely bath time for daughter & dog ! He’s lucky someone else could deal with the dog.

    • I think I would be passing the buck as well.

  • This wouldn’t be fun to clean up, especially the ink we can’t see in the photo.

  • Round 1 down now round 2 is bubble baths.
